The Silent Speakers are one of the Four Ruling Cults of Ethax. All of their members swear a vow of silence, instead communicating in their nonverbal language that consists of subtle body movements and hand signs. Each member also wears a pure white mask that has no mouth. The ultimate authority of the Silent Speakers is Dasaphiel, the Muted Evangelist. Osortheus, an androsphinx that once served as her jailor, is her most trusted lieutenant and battle mount. Below them are six other fallen angels of various ranks, each granted one of the Masks of Seven Virtues. The Loudest Whispers are the most faithful mortals in the cult, granted immense power from Dasaphiel. All these make up the leadership of the cult, and its regular members are simply called Speakers.
The Silent Speakers seek to ensure that all peoples living in Ethax have the freedom to access the knowledge and skill needed to live pleasant lives. They serve as a check and balance against the other three cults, making sure that none of them grow too powerful or greedy. The Silent Speakers are responsible for spying on all enemies of Ethax, both outside and within, as well as organizing meetings and diplomatic action by the Cults as a joint entity. They advocate their open communication with the other cults, which the Speakers claim would have devolved into warfare given their secretive nature. The Silent Speakers are one of the more formidable spy networks in Eochora, if not the most influential or powerful. They have agents in most, if not all, foreign capitals, as well as the other Cults of Ethax. In addition, the Silent Speakers serve as patrons of the libraries and many operas and stages in Ethax.
The organization's motto is "Silence cannot be censored."
