It isn't enough for you to simply defeat a foe in combat. Combat is a place for you to learn about your opponent, converse with them, and manipulate their emotions, with strikes rather than words.

Equipment: A light melee weapon

Additional Rules: When a Dueling power affects someone’s emotions, the GM chooses how that character reacts. They might flee, become infuriated and strike out with anger, stumble and fall, become overcome with curiosity, or strongly reconsider their current position. What they do depends on what you say, what actions you take, and who the character is. This change usually lasts a few moments, but might become more permanent.

Complications: You momentarily stumble or trip, and an enemy gets a hold of you or you fall to the ground. Another character can choose to affect your emotions for a few moments.

Experience: You gain dueling experience when you defeat a foe bigger, stronger, and slower than you, or when you defeat someone emotionally rather than physically.
