Allow the GM to come up with a complication of their choice, based on the current situation.
You see something that isn’t there, and you are convinced it is real.
Someone has had a bad experience with the Fatebound in the past, and won’t trust you.
Your Fatebound Ring malfunctions, teleporting you somewhere undesirable.
A sleeping or a drowsy character suddenly becomes fully awake!
You've spent too much time in the land of dreams, and become drowsy.
Something you have done has made your patron upset! They become displeased with you.
The target of one of your enchantment spells realizes they had been mentally affected by your magic, and the effect ends on them.
You stumble into something that you definitely weren’t looking for. It might be a trap, a wild animal, a hostile scouting party, or the lair of a monster.
You read some detail incorrectly. At some point later, when you try to deduce, the GM will grant you disadvantage even if you are correct.
A character touched by your mind learns a secret about you that you don't want them to know.
A character's mind instinctively blocks you out. Telepathy spells affecting them end and you can't use Telepathy powers against them until they forget about you.
[Spell] Invitation to Slumber: A nearby character becomes drowsy. The spell fails if they have reason to believe that you are using magic against them.
[Action] While a character is sleeping near you, you can choose to see and hear their dreams.
[Passive] Each time you sleep, your patron will grant you a task. If you complete it before the next time you sleep, your patron will become pleased with you. If you don’t, your patron will become displeased with you.
[Boon] Boon of Luck: You can gain advantage on a roll, and then you lose the Boon.
[Boon] Boon of Wealth: Your patron grants you 5 gold and refills your supply.
[Action] You can ask the GM if your patron likes, dislikes, or is neutral about something. If they like or dislike it, the patron might make a request of you. If you fulfill the request, they become pleased with you. If you don’t, they become displeased with you.
[Spell] Dazzle: A near character becomes distracted by something you do. Until something more important (such as taking damage) happens to them or you stop distracting them, they are completely enraptured.
[Action, Passive] You can ask the GM if a character's emotions are being manipulated by magic and they will tell you, and your emotions can't be manipulated by magic unless you allow it.
[Spell] Befriend: A near character’s opinion of you increases. If they were hostile, they become neutral, and if they were neutral, they become friendly. If they realize that you attempted to use magic on their emotions, then their opinion of you decreases.
[Spell Modifier] Characters affected by any spells you cast do not realize that you cast a spell on them unless something else gives them a reason to (such as another character or this skill's complication).
You gain experience if you made a roll as part of an attempt to interact with one of your hallucinations.
You earn Fatebound Reputation experience when you spend a token of empathy, or when you end a conflict, whether it is a brawl between siblings or a war between two nations.
You gain dreamwalker experience if you have talked to a character about something one of you experienced in a dream.
You gain Eldritch Pact experience if you have received a Boon from your patron or have convinced a character to make a pact of their own with your patron.
You gain Enchantment experience if your words, actions, or spells prevented a character from attacking you who would have attacked you otherwise.
You gain gathering experience if another character has made use of something you found in the wilderness.
You gain insight experience when you call out a character on a lie they have said, or some truth that they do not want you to know.
You gain Telepathy experience if you used someone’s secret against them or had a mental conversation with someone about a currently ongoing verbal conversation.
Your rank is Potential.
[Action] If you take off your Fatebound ring and look through its holes at an image in the sky of the Eternal Instant, you will be instantly transported to that location in Eochora.
[Action] If you take off the ring and look through its holes at the Eternal Instant from Eochora, you will be instantly transported back to the Eternal Instant.
[Scavenge] You can scavenge for an amount of Supply equal to your Gathering level.
[Attribute] Add your Gathering level to the maximum amount of Supply that you can carry.
[Insight Modifier] Whenever you roll Insight against a character, regardless of the result, the GM will tell you one detail about that character that may or may not be relevant.
[Deduction] You can deduce a character using a very strong emotion they are feeling right now.
[Spell] Mindlink: Choose a far character. The two of you can communicate telepathically, without sound, and without sharing a language until either of you suffers a complication from a mental roll.
[Action] You can ask the GM for the current emotional state of a character you can see, and they will tell you.
Your attachment to reality is … tenuous at best. Sometimes, your imagination feels more real to you than the physical things around you, and your mind often plays tricks on you.
Experience: You gain experience when you make a roll as part of an attempt to interact with one of your hallucinations.
Complication: You see something that isn’t there, and you are convinced it is real.
[Roll Modifier] You have advantage on rolls involving staying in your feet, landing without hurting yourself, and outrunning someone.
[Passive] Feline animals will be naturally friendly towards you and not attack you without reason.
