In a world without gods, its people turn to the stars for answers. Seeing shapes in the void between the heavenly lights, they began to pray to these stories in earnest.

Roll a d6.
->This is your character's Starsign. A Starsign is similar to that of real-world astrology, it isn't uncommon to hear people discuss things like "I am born under ___ sign so we are compatible". However, something special about the player characters resonate with these symbols--granting them strange abilities beyond just simple tendencies of personality.

When choosing your class, you do not have to make a character that has a personality or abilities that 'match' your Starsign. Rather, this is a free feat/ability that is there for the purpose of being a fun freebie.

-✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧--✧-

1 - The Weaver -✧- The curving spokes of a great Loom became the concept of fate and creation. Life is but a tapestry, and our destiny is but a thread. Each stone, bird, and star a beautiful part of the grand Weave. It is the first recognized and documented shape in history.
*In your dreams during a long rest, something comforting sings to you. You can roll a d6 and add the number rolled to one ability check of your choice. Usage of this feature becomes available again at dawn.*

2 - Mater Natura -✧- A circular shape was denoted as reflection of our planet, Mater Natura. Its roundness representative of the circle of life and planetary shape both. All things that go around-come around.
*A part of you remembers crawling on all fours, seeking your prey. Your Stealth checks cannot suffer disadvantage as a result of moving through Difficult Terrain.*

3 - The Quill-✧- The lines of a brush attributed to Knowledge itself, and those who follow that path began to resonate with the power of the recorded word. Ink flowed from their bodies as easily as spoken words drop from honied lips. All knowledge is a collective knowledge, and those who bear this divine Axiom are able to share information across the Weave-Net of magic itself.
*You gain a random Language Proficiency. You don't know why or how you gained fluency.*

4-
Solluna -✧- Some drew the shape of two faces, and in this binary saw the concept of Sun and Moon--naming this constellation The Solluna, they represent two sides of the same coin: Truth and Deception; Blinding Conviction and Gentle Shadow.

*You may gain Advantage on any one Insight check made during the day, and any one Deception check made during the night. Usage of this feature becomes available again at dawn.*

5 - The Warden -✧- The newest of recognized shapes, it is the symbol of both a sword and a shield. In order to achieve lasting peace, there needs to be those who are willing to fight. This is the concept of those who would sacrifice everything in order to bear arms for those who cannot.
*Somehow, you remember a dark ritual to heal others at the cost of your own lifeblood. At the cost of a Hit Die, you can heal a target for the amount rolled on your die.*

6 - The Traveler -✧- One of the oldest shapes, it is adjacent to the Weaver. If the Weaver is all of physical creation and intangible fate, then Traveler is the passage of time and the spirit of moving forward. Progress and entropy both.
*Something instinctual and yet other pulls you, whispering to guide you. You have advantage on Nature checks when navigating any terrain, even those unknown to you.*

-Table Rules-

-✧-Don't be a dick to your DM or fellow players. This should be obvious. XD

-✧-Please do not talk over each other. I encourage RP, but explicitly shutting people out via speaking over them is a no-go. I myself do not have the strongest of voices and get talked over often-- I don't want it to happen at my table.

-✧-"Mixing" and "IRL bleedover" is explicitly discouraged. In that, it's okay to use IRL knowledge and experiences to enhance a character to make them feel more "real", but please know that in my games, there is a clear divide between character and player. Whatever happens to the character is not an attack on the player. Whatever interpersonal drama between people stays out of the table. If a person has a bad day, try not to let it affect the character as a means to vent player frustrations. None of us at the table are being paid for someone's therapy, and none of us are properly trained to provide it. Most of us use TTRP as a means to escape RL things, please don't bring that with you into the session.

-✧-If there is an issue, be it "I don't feel comfortable roleplaying these topics" or a problem with another player, seek me out first before it escalates into something bigger.

-✧-Please do not assume anything from standard TTRPG applies here. Guilds, royalty, politics, fae-lore, monsters... since this is homebrew, things you may "know" may not be true. While I love spur of the moment character decisions/RP, if you're unsure of something don't hesitate to ask. I would rather break for exposition/explanation rather than fight to correct people's assumptions.

-Character Creation-

In addition to your Starsign, roll a 1d4. This is your "flex skill" when it comes to making checks that aren't really based on Wisdom, Charisma, Etc. It is partially instinct, partially a flexible modifier for things non-standard-mechanics D&D.

-✧- point buy for comfort balance
or
roll 4d6, drop lowest number if you're feeling risky. However, only one 18 is awarded if using the rolling method.

-✧- Feel free to chose any background for specific skills/flavor, just send me your choice so we can adjust if needed.

-✧- I generally don't like horrific personal trauma to be the core backstory of a PC character. General fantasy plots like memory loss, village destroyed by a dragon, curses, and what not are absolutely fine. It's just the sexual and slave trauma that can get a little ethically dice-y and triggering. In order to provide an environment welcoming to all players, be aware that some of the more "hardcore" choices might upset fellow players.

-✧-I am more than happy to alter a subclass via homebrew if you're looking for different spells/abilities for flavor. This is especially true since we have so many players; giving everyone a little unique twist to really make their character come alive.
