Guidelines

(Note: I am still filling in all the links. You can look up information directly on the Dragonlance Wiki in the meantime.)

You are one of the Chosen, anointed agent of the gods, given the task of stopping the Kingpriest. As a player, I am asking you to put a bit of reading into familiarizing yourself with the Dragonlance setting and lore, to better understand your character's place in the world and what they are trying to do. Reference material and links are provided, as well as character specifics below.

Each player selects one patron deity from the pantheon (excluding Paladine, Mishakal, Gilean, Takhisis, or any of the three gods of magic, Solinari, Lunitari, or Nuitari), with no duplicates. Your background should reflect your patron somehow and your alignment should embody an aspect of the deity. Characters can be evil, but the party will not be acting against each other.

Characters will be 6th level at the start of the campaign. The DM reserves the right to make changes to characters as part of the story and the divine meddling the gods may do during the course of your journey. (Note: I'm mentioning this because I know players can be sensitive about others messing with their character.)

Select a race that exists on Krynn, Ansalon specifically. Please read a bit about the racial background to better understand your origins in the world. Some of the races below are consider Evil races and will have challenges operating in many areas, especially Istar.

The First Sign of Warning has occurred: Disappearance of true priests throughout the land. There are no clerics and paladins have lost their access to spells (but retain their spell slots). Druids and rangers are unaffected (druids do generally worship one of the gods of nature). Wizards (those who call upon the gods of magic for power) are also unaffected. The usual restrictions on "broken" classes apply. Do NOT roll for hit points when leveling up.

Low proliferation of magic, but powerful items and spellcasters. Expect to find few magic items (do not depend on them to build your character), but possibly very powerful ones that may not be level appropriate. Starting equipment is any mundane gear within reason (you can only have one spyglass) and only three (3) of each consumable (i.e. antitoxin, potion of healing, etc.) from the Player's Handbook. You will have additional starting gold (undecided at this moment).

The DM reserves the right to have a full attendance session 0 for character creation for ease of answering questions and setting up basics between all players.
