Manacles were metal clasps meant to restrain the hands of a humanoid creature. These could either be one solid metal construction or two separate clasps joined together by a metal rod or chain. A creature can attempt to break these with a strength check, the DC varies depending on material and craftsmanship but usually ranges from 13 to 18.
