An older magic Bridgette has been taught, passed down from her elders. Fairy rings are created through complicated spatial and dimensional magic, which ultimately resemble Hidden Grottos or Secret Rooms. If you’re thinking of the Demiplane d&d spell, you are correct. Hidden within the fae’s realm, they are essentially stable, self-sustained little pocket realms, whose interiors depend entirely on the maker of the Room. These rooms can be linked with each other with other secret rooms made by the same creator, with specific runes serving as doorways in, out, or between them.
These hidden rooms and environments are time-consuming to make and take a lot of time to prepare, typically meant to be summoned in tandem by a group of mages, to avoid significant mana drain on a single caster.
Bridgette’s Klefki (Fleta, an actual fae) has much better control over dimension-warping abilities due to her species, and aids her in the creation and stability of these sorts of rooms. Without Fleta’s help stabilizing the construct, Bridgette’s rings are temporary and will typically only last a night.
- They do not have to literally resemble a Fairy Ring - a ring of mushrooms may not be present. most often doorways are created through places like cracks in a ruined wall, or a similar spaces where most people wouldn’t step through without good reason. Doorways are much more simple to make, including ones that teleport to specific rings, but these still take time to prepare and attune, if the person stepping through doesn’t want to get thrown into a stack of boxes or something else within the ring.
- Bri typically makes multiple little, usually temporary hide-outs in the areas she frequents, with her own home being the most intricate permanent one she’s made.
