Last Sesh
- opened cliff door in mural of the Burrows, saw statue of zandalar the dancer
- sarcophagus open and something had escaped, we presumed it was her
- we exited into impossible forest, waterfall with golden dancing figure in lake below
- Booze charmed at first
-
- Husk, wild-eyed and claws destroyed from going ham on the corpse, is bandaged by Zee and Rujo, with Cure Wounds recovering 10 of his damage
- Rujo calls up to the others at the top of the waterfall - Raine off to the side and aloof, Booze unconscious, and Rascy begrudgingly tossing down a rope, still twilring his bloody dagger
-
- Rujo, tied and stay-sticked to a tree, keeps watch until he falls... and sees Husk having night terrors
- Thanks to the bracelet, Rujo shares Husk's abject terror, and they start freaking out in tandem
- Rujo tries to cut at his bonds with a gold coin taken from the dancer's corpse, to no avail; his tattoos
- Zee can't wake him, so she wakes Husk; Husk attacks her, but then comes to his senses, as does Rujo
- Rujo floats the idea of Husk maybe removing the bracer if he too is compromised, but he tries and cannot - Zee recalls it would require a Remove Curse
- Zee and Rasc keep watch, the others sleep, and it is noted that Rasc actually has to sleep now
- The next morning Zee points out the traps and leads them through the painted chamber down the tunnel not explored
- Some stairs descend into a cavern whose ceiling we cannot see; a chasm filled with twenty pillars of stone leads to the other side
- Rasc bunnyhops across with the stay-sick and a rope tied to it, Booze and Rujo holding the other end; he whiffs it and stumbles into darkness
- We all leap to pillars of our own to try and pursue, but each of us immediately finds ourselves surrounded by darkness, unable to see or hear the others
- A strong breeze comes from below; Zee feather falls down, Rujo uses the stay-stick and rope as a pitton but ends up suspended in mid-air following a slide, and Husk tries to lumberjack-style rope himself down the pillar he is on, ultimately
- They ultimately all fall/land in a pile of old bones at the bottom, and find exactly 7 pieces of silver each, as well as two severed hands with tendons, a left and right, with a jewel embedded in the back of each
- Rujo raises a torch and spies a door; we are all growing unnaturally cold, so Zee quickly casts Detect Magic on door and hands; the door handles are interlocked skeletal hands and carvings above the door show the moon in seven phases, with necromantic magic emanating from both door and hands
- On investigation, the coins show cities we have never visited on one side and phases of the moon on each, corresponding to the carvings above the door; we try placing them in the carvings to no avail
- We array the coins in the order of the carvings and the skeletal hands open, upraised, expectant
- There is elvish script advising to 'say my name and make an offering' Rujo advises the Raven Queen was known among the shaddur-kai-yay as Nera - he says the name
- Husk checks for traps as we progress through a rough-hewn rock tunnel; faded primitive fresco of birds that could be vultures or ravens; the sound of running water grows as we press ahead
- Zee tells a story about Lady Hot Shoes, and Rujo lets slip that he considers Ashkeet to be 'big' for his size; when the others start teasing he forges ahead into the next cavern and see a river running through it
- A long, flat boat with a hooded boatman crests the river; when Husk approaches, the featureless figure whispers, 'two by two they cross the threshold' and extends a skeletal hand
- Zee and Rasc go first, then Husk and Rujo; the ferryman asks three riddles, with black tentacles emerging from the water each time; yet the riddles are answered before these fiends have much chance to attack, and land on the other shore to see that the others fared less well
- Booze and Raine enter the antechamber, show up with a flustered Raine and a proud Booze certain he solved every riddle
- There is a giant vulture carving on the ceiling, and images of jaguars; Zee shows Rujo images she sketched of similar jaguars alongside a busty goddess, 'exalted queen of jaguars'. a flintheaded warrior, lion-man and flaming visage she sketched from the entrance of the chamber to the Shigir Idol
- Rujo then asks about the Artefacts the team are seeking, and they assume this means they're nearing one
- Huski, searching the place, finds a rock and exchanges it for meat and jerky, convincing Booze it is a tiger-warding rock
- We hear grinding rock noises, and voices enter a mudbrick chamber - a gaudily painted, huge stone statue of an obese goddess, with jaguar statues surrounding - with pots and chests are strewn about as though ransacked recently
- In the shadows we spot an all-over scarred, pitch-black tiefling gent who emerges from behind a pillar. Behind him is a pale, ichor-dripping woman with bloodshot eyes; a duergar with metallic grey skin; and a sickly green-hued older man.
- They know our names, and mention a dossier about us provided by their employer, whom we presume to be the Catalysts; they want to be on their way, as they claim the item they sought is already gone
- Husk loots the tombs for 41 gold, 350 golds worth of gems
- Zee looks at the swirling gaudy painted markings on the statue of the Queen of Jaguars, and recognises them as being similar to Maman Camille's - they realise Camille actually resembles the obese statue of the queen, and decide to return to the bordello
- Husk finds a breakable wall, and Booze smashes through to a tunnel; Rascy steals 150 gold worth of gems
- Zee and Rujo meanwhile are rearranging the altar of the Queen of Jaguars; Rujo bows and apologises to her
- Raine says she has a boat in her cloak of pockets if they wanted to try going back across the river without the ferryman; Rujo tried to summon him with the riddle, 'why is a raven like a writing desk?' but to no avail (but gets Inspiration)
- Husk finds a small brass mouse statue, and Rasc finds a wrapped item that he gives to Zee: she protests. 'It's a package from a dead person!' Rascar: 'Everything belongs to someone dead eventually.' She opens it and reveals a sharktooth.
- They use DImension Door together, times 3, to return to the ferryman and see Rujo and Husk pull up... in spectral form. Rujo can't see them, and asks the ferryman, who advises 'they did not cross the threshold'.
- Hearing this, Zee and Rascy board the boat, pay the ferryman a silver coin each, and tell him an ancient riddle; this suffices, and we are all ultimately back on the starting shore.
- On departure, advises Rascar, 'To you that crosses the thresholds, the Matron of Ravens sends her regards'. Rascar tells him Nera can go fuck herself.
- We exit the necromantic door, and the floor of bones has fallen away - the others drop and Zee casts Feather Fall on them; Rujo and Raine fall later, Rujo entrusting his fate to the Nightweaver
- He hits the water hard; the Nightweaver didn't do much. Raine is worse though, he drags her unconscious form from underwater to lie on the shore nearby, and we regroup and realise we are back at Darktow Isle, though far from the inhabited side.
- The only level safe ground, 100ft up, is where Zee creates a Tiny Hut - we all scale the cliff in different ways to rest within it, and see that a giant Raven Queen statue looms above us; Rascar pees on it and steals a finger.
- Rujo drinks the Potion of Djinn's Tongue and vomits and farts fire for a minute; Booze convinces him to break the bottle and choke down the tongue as well
- Zee casts Prestidigitation on him until he is clean, but he starts freaking out and she lets him back in the Tiny Hut, where they see a sleeping Husk freaking out as well
- The awake members of Lost Claws wake Husk and confront him about his night terrors, surmise it is related to Zandalar making them love her
- 'I'm tired of everyone pointing out the irony of what I've done!'
- Wish spell to resurrect friend
