Darian is an adventurer and priest of the Silver Flame. As a child he was possessed by a demon, which used his body to perform assassinations in Thrane. He was possessed for decades, most of his adult life, until an assassination went wrong. When attempting to assassinate a seemingly innocuous old man in Flamekeep, Darian was incapacitated and the demon exorcised by the Sacred Bell of Saint Cassia.
Now, he serves the church as a travelling templar. He retains the skills he gained as an assassin, and puts them to use against his once masters. He is also a trusted member of Miron's Tears, and works to battle corruption within the church.
