The Fury, originally named Szorawai, is the Sovereign of Rage and Ruin. She represents passion and the fullness of emotion, and our instincts. She is there to guide us when rational thought has failed us. She is also the Sovereign of revenge, promising vengeance to those who have been wronged.
Whereas The Devourer represents the storm outside of us, the Fury is the storm that rages within us, the emotions we struggle to control.
Followers of the Fury believe that suppressing our emotions leads to suffering, and that people should embrace their emotions fully, acting on impulse. She also encourages her followers to take justice into their own hands, teaching that they cannot trust the laws of Aureon to protect them, and those who have suffered often call on her to grant them the will to take vengeance.
The Fury is varyingly portrayed as being the daughter of either Arawai or The Devourer, though there are commonalities in both myths. In the myth that has her as the child of Arawai, the Devourer is constantly attacking Arawai, just as the storms and wild fires burn the farmers crops and fields. The Fury is Arawai's anguish made manifest, a personification of her rage at her brother who destroys what she creates.
In another version of the myth, the Fury is the result of the rage felt by The Devourer. In this myth, the Devourer was bound by his enemies, and his rage as he struggled against his restraints was so powerful that it spawned the Fury, who vowed revenge on those who had so humilitated her father.
Other myths don't attribute her creation to either Arawai or The Devourer, instead attrbituing her creation to Eberron herself. These myths assert that when Eberron birthed the world, her cry of pain is what gave life to the Fury. In this version of the mythology, the Fury is actually the first of the Sovereigns.
She is often portrayed as a Half-Elf, a Harpy or a snakelike dragon.
