Player Option

You can treat arcane foci as magical martial ranged weapons with the Special property, which you are proficient with. These weapons can be used to make ranged spell attacks with a range of up to 120 feet, dealing 1d6 damage. If you have access to spellcasting, you can use your spellcasting modifier instead of your dexterity modifier for the attack and damage rolls using an arcane focus. Staffs and rods have the versatile feature, which increases their damage die to 1d8.

When you take this fighting style, choose one of the following damage types: acid, cold, fire, lightning, or thunder. Your arcane foci deal damage of that type. If you use an imbued wood focus, your attacks use the damage type associated with that focus.
