The Tairnadal have a long tradition of Druidism, and the Siyal Marrain are famous for caring for and nurturing the Tairnadal's animals. Vaela was one of the greatest druids of the Age of Giants, and many of the other druidic patron ancestors are her revenants. Her village was destroyed by giants when she was just a girl, and she alone escaped into the jungle.
Vaela should've died out there, but she didn't. When she encountered a pack of wolves, she instinctively became a wolf, and they took her in. As she grew older, she began to take other forms, and legend says that she travelled the jungle, living amongst all manner of beasts as one of their own, growing and learning their secrets. She eventually remembered her past and rejoined the elves. Living as a beast for so long, it took her a long time to decide who she wanted Vaela the Elf to be.
All druids of the Tairnadal trace their traditions back to Vaela, the first elven druid.
