North of the mountains that mark the southern border of the Demon Wastes are great badlands, and there lies the Labyrinth, a natural maze created by the canyons and mesas. The terrain, and an ancient ward laid by the Couatl, prevents overland travel from the Demon Wastes via any other route.
The Labyrinth is home to the Ghaash'kala, a primarily orcish civilisation that believe they have a sacred duty to guard the labyrinth and prevent the evil of the Demon Wastes from making it out and tainting the rest of the world.
