We remove the wealth for the stuff crafted last session, which totals: 599 gp and 5 sp
Bhaltair doesn't want new armour, so they decide not to craft the studded leather for them.
They get Lailari to craft Drums of War for Bhaltair (90gp)
Striking Rune for Warren (65 gp)
Unmake half-plate for Valaari and make Full Plate instead (15 gp - 9 gp)
Armor Potency Rune for Bhaltair (160 gp)
Remaining time on the Garden of Warden (6 more days, remaining cost 232 gp)
Naze works for 6 more days (6 gp)
Runmae works in the forge for those 6 days, and gets a crit success so earns 12 gp!
The Garden of Wonder now has a functional Bloodvine! This cannot possibly backfire. This is actually one of the most significant contributions to the clan in ages, as it means fewer trips to the Abyssal Forest of Khaar.
8th Dravago, 999 YK
Torgaan summons the party to give them their next assignment: to warn the other Ghaash'kala clans.
Torgaan briefs them on the other clans, their cultures and traditions. Kastar Dar is a 10 day journey from Maruk Dar, Vaanka Dar is 12 days from there, and from there they will hopefully be able to get a dragonhawk escort to Jaasakah Dar which will take 2 days.
Kastar Dar is in Khyber, and Torgaan doesn't know how to get to it. It's biggest defense is its secret location, they'll need to arrive in the rough region and wait for Kastar patrol to pick them up.
Vaanka Dar has a dragonhawk aerie, they should be able to get a flight from there.
Jaasakah Dar is inside a Risia manifest zone, so they'll need warm clothing.
Arvel will maintain the Garden of Wonder in Bhaltair's absence.
They make their preparations to leave. They get 20 moderate healing potions (4 each), 28 days rations each, and 2 divine spell scrolls from Jhirza Suusha (Soothing Blossoms and Wanderer's Guide). They get a navigator's star from Lailari as their temporary magic item.
They purchase a Rope of Climbing from Lailari.
Valaari gets a climbing kit, repair kit and a spyglass (for Bhaltair).
As instructed, they get some cold weather clothing.
They head out!
12th Dravago, 999 YK
On the 4th day of travel, they run into a group of Plaguebearers. They see them in advance thanks to the spyglass, so they have some grace in deciding how to deal with the situation. Plaguebearers cannot join the Ghaash'kala.
They discuss laying an ambush, and Naze is shocked at how quickly they want to resort to violence.
They decide to ambush them, they don't want to pass this onto another patrol to deal with.
Bhaltair uses magic to make them all invisible, and they wait for the plaguebearers to get into position.
They spring their ambush, and begin shooting at the plaguebearers. They want to avoid melee at all costs.
Upon realising there was a threat, the plaguebearers all use their weapons to burst pustules on themselves, coating their weapons in the nasty juice.
Warren takes one of them out in one turn.
The plaguebearers begin charging up the ramps to get to the group, and Bhaltair uses Gravity Well to pull them off the ledge, buying valuable time.
Naze uses spiritual weapon for the first time! Rad.
Valaari throws their boomerang and hits one of them, fouling it.
Runmae eventually realises she can summon a temporary bow, with temporary ammo, and does that. Now it doesn't matter that the ammo becomes tainted!
There is so much gross stuff everywhere, dear gods.
The plaguebearers charge up the ramp. One of them throws a spear at Naze, hitting him, but he critically succeeds on his save against the Bubonic Plague.
Another one stabs Zaphy with their longspear (this is contentious with Naze's player), and Naze succeeds against his second save against the Bubonic Plague.
Valaari critically succeeds on an exploit vulnerability check, and learns that one of the plaguebearers also has a suite of venereal diseases.
They manage to take down the plaguebearers without any of them getting a terrible disease! Result!
