Boggard

Boggards are frog-like humanoids, similar to the Tripkee, but they are aquatic rather than arboreal. They reside in wetlands such as swamps or marshes, and even some rainforests, though they need a sufficient amount of water to reproduce. Like frogs, they spawn in bodies of water and hatch as tadpoles, which gradually develop limbs and lungs as they mature. Though they are fully adapted to the water, boggards tend to build their homes on what land is available, constructing huts out of mud.

Lagoons of Piety

They are native to the Lagoons of Piety, where they live in a monarchical society and cultivate the wetlands to provide fish and other sustenance. Historically, they worshipped their monarchs and nobles, their faith transforming those individuals into beings worthy of such esteem, but since the introduction of the Quor-Toa to their environment, they have begun weaponising their faith to transform their people to fight against the invaders.

The boggards of the Lagoons worship a frog-like deity they call Gogunta. This worship is new, a result of the conflict with the Quor-Toa. When the Quor-Toa first arrived in the demiplane, the boggards attempted to drive them off. In their desperation, the quor-toa manifested a god-like being to defend them, which decimated the boggards forces and lead to them praying for help themselves, manifesting a god of their own. The two "gods" destroyed each other, but seeing the clash was evidence enough of the divine, and a second manifestation is likely to be more refined, better shaped by the prayers of their people.
