24. We should go and see The Mountainsoul

  • Ell does the recap, so Damien d'Orien gets an Improve on his least developed theme
  • We roll to see who might know a rough location for the Allaris Gallery within Granite Halls
  • Charlie doesn't know the exact gallery, but does know of Sava Kharisa and her gallery, and she'd know
  • Thankfully, Damien and Yashira both know of the Allaris Gallery and where it is, so they won't need to speak to Sava.
  • They head to Central Plateau and then down to Granite Halls
  • As they step off the lift, a rat climbs up Yashira's leg and she has to suppress the initial panic response. She assumes the rat has news?
  • The rat squeeks at her and then waits, before Zae laughs and says "nah I'm just fucking with you. Found a dwarf matching one of your models, blacked out in an alleyway in Downstairs. Looks like they've been robbed."
  • Nerys comments on that being weird, dwarves can hold their liquor pretty well
  • Yashira says checking on them is probably more pressing than the art gallery, nobody wants to be unconscious in an alleyway.
  • Nerysdeth and Chantalyn speak at the same time, then Nerys says for her to speak, and Chanty goes "no you're like so important you should go"
  • They both say the same thing though, they suspect that Linden was poisoned.
  • Yashira cups the rat and puts them on the floor, and thanks them. "Please don't stay on my shoulder any longer"
  • They'll go check that out first, Downstairs isn't far from here.
  • It then occurs to Yashira that her hands are wet now. Ugh.
  • Damien makes a joke about the rat actually being white, and then Yashira rubs the goo off onto his shirt.
  • "AGH!"
  • They're burning daylight (lmao, there's no sun here) (and also it's night time by now)
  • They follow the rat to near the Diamond Theatre, and Chantalyn goes "oh hey have we been here before?"
  • "Yeah...sort of"
  • "Oh, okay"
  • Damien says it feels like they come here all the time
  • "Oh really? Why?"
  • "Charlie has connections down here"
  • "Oh my gosh right, the theatre, I remember!"
  • Chantalyn then asks what they're doing down here?
  • Yashira asks if she's doing okay? She says she's a bit sleepy
  • "Do you want to sit down for a bit?"
  • "Nooooo we have to find people and like, y'know, I'll sleep when I'm dead it's fine"
  • Yashira is concerned about this. She gives Chantalyn a look over to see if anything stands out.
  • Chantalyn's perfectly smooth blond hair is a little frizzy, her normally bright eyes have some dark circles forming, and her shoulders are sagging a bit. Especially as they already checked this part out, aren't they the best detectives in the city?
  • Yashira picks up on that last part, Chantalyn doesn't say it. Chanty literally got mugged like 2 alleys over. She elects to ignore the layer of disappointment in this moment, she just buries it and won't ever address it.
  • She gives Chantalyn's hand a bit of a squeeze, says "okay, it's maybe been a bit of a long day. If you want to take a rest, we can catch up with you later? We're used to long stints and little sleep, maybe a little bit of rest might be helpful for you. Just a smidge, maybe just sit down for an hour or so"
  • "Oh my gosh, do you think I'm weak?"
  • "No...no, I don't"
  • "Oh so you're just looking out for me, that's like really kind and sweet, but this is like really important. If we don't get this done and make sure it gets done and everything is fine, my life gets ruined tomorrow so, y'know"
  • "Oh no, what a tragedy" - Damien
  • "yeah it is, because then that bitch CaCo Shanelle wins."
  • "Do you want her to see you like this though?"
  • "It's fine, I'm hot"
  • "you are"
  • "Oh my gosh you think I'm hot?"
  • Yashira is flustered. Chantalyn starts crying, which just makes it worse
  • It escalates
  • There's a dog barking on someone's mic and that gets brought into it, even the dog things Chanty is hot
  • Okay
  • Yashira explains they need to get Linden back to the hotel anyway, so Chantalyn can rest for a bit and they can reconvene!
  • "But I wanna punch something!"
  • "Soon...hopefully, when we find the Radiant Idol! Or maybe some more muggers..."
  • Chantalyn is still crying. "We should take them and then we need to find the rest of them because if we can't then my life is ruined"
  • "We've already found 2 of them!"
  • "That's less than half! And we only have like 5 hours"
  • It's more like 12 hours
  • Yashira gets her pocket watch out and confirms it's 13 hours 17 minutes and 12 seconds but who's counting
  • "You're so good"
  • "Objectionable"
  • "You're so nice"
  • and then Chantalyn says "and this little guy" and points down at Ruckus. "He's a fucking trooper, like look at him!"
  • All of this through tears
  • Now we're all crying
  • "okay Chantalyn, you know I did that thing earlier where I said please don't cry"
  • "okay I won't" and there's no more tears
  • "It's so impressive you can just turn off the tap like that"
  • "Oh yeah you just like, stop the emotions"
  • "Oh yeah I'm familiar"
  • Damien says that's not healthy. Yashira disagrees.
  • Okay, let's check on Linden. They're probably okay. Let's figure out what state they're in and work out what we need to do.
  • Nerys falls back a bit to talk to Damien while the others walk on.
  • "Hey Damien can you unglue yourself for a second?"
  • "What?"
  • "Why are you being so mean? What's up?"
  • Damien says he's not being mean, some might say he has a Jovial Disposition.
  • "Why are you being so mean to Chantalyn?"
  • "Because she drives me up the fucking wall"
  • "But I think she's nice, but it's okay if you don't, but also she kind of hired Yashira so she's like a temporary boss and you're being really rude and condescending at every opportunity, and I don't think that's very nice. Why are you doing that?"
  • Damien is aghast. The audacity to directly confront him about an issue!
  • "I've seen you annoyed before but you've never acted like this before" Nerys continues, "is it something super personal or you just don't like her?"
  • "Look, Nerys, I understand we've been hired but this whole situation is just rubbing me the wrong way. We seem to be making progress but it's slow, and I don't do slow."
  • "Are you sure?"
  • "yes"
  • "So you're just letting out your frustrations on someone else?"
  • "Maybe? I haven't realised I've been doing it. We had a nice chat earlier!"
  • "I just thought it was out of character for you and wanted to check in. I don't know. That was all."
  • Damien apologises for his uncouth behaviour. Nerys appreciates that he listened and didn't get defensive. "Also, I think you're really cool"
  • Damien says this is the second time he's been chastised for his behaviour today, he's beginning to think he's not that cool actually
  • "Well if you need to talk about it, I'm here, and I'm sure other people are too"
  • None of them are in this alone
  • Ruckus says "it's been a long day for all of us" and this makes Damien jump as they thought the rest of the group had walked on
  • Damien continues. "The Sarhain's just get to me. Both of them are just so...good at what they do, and it annoys me and I don't know why"
  • He opens up a bit more, and talks about Bastien being an outrider, and maybe that's getting to him a bit. Nerys asks if he likes adventuring?
  • He does, he likes being out and doing stuff. He doesn't think he'd be a good detective, not like Yashira, he's too impatient.
  • Nerys agrees that it's not really like it is in the stories. Damien agrees, the stories he reads are a lot more sexy
  • Also none of them in the books seem overworked like Yashira?
  • "Yeah I'm beginning to understand why Yashira doesn't take care of herself"
  • Chloe's like "AYYYYYY!? Why am I catching strays!?" but Yashira isn't here
  • "I think you're doing a good job" says Nerys
  • He doesn't catch it and they have to repeat themselves
  • Oh look it's the alley they're looking for!
  • Linden is passed out near the mouth of the alley. All of their valuables have been taken, and there's vomit on the floor. Chantalyn says "oh my god Linden are you okay!?" and shakes them.
  • Linden stirs a bit and bats at her, and she's like "no you need to wake up so you can go back to sleep and get ready for the fashion show tomorrow!
  • Damien has some bottles of water. Charlie asks for one.
  • Charlie cools the water with his magic, and then pours it over Linden.
  • Linden wakes up explosively, effing and blinding and demanding to know who just pours freezing water on people!?
  • Nerys excitedly says "it was us!"
  • He goes to cuss her out, and then seems to remember something and his expression goes blank. "oh"
  • Chantalyn asks if he's okay? What happened? Was he mugged?
  • "I don't know. I think I must've been"
  • How much did he drink?
  • "Not that much"
  • Yashira asks what their most vivid memory is?
  • Linden explains that they saw a play, and it was sad, and then on the way out they saw the playwright and got really, really sad
  • Yashira puts her hand on them and they're really cold
  • "Charlie, is it possible for someone to pass out from just being exposed to her?"
  • Chantalyn asks what she means? Isn't Luca just a person? Does she like, stink really bad?
  • Charlie flips on her, "you don't know what you're talking about Chantalyn"
  • "But why would just seeing someone make you really sad?"
  • Ban says sometimes people just look so sad, it makes you sad
  • Yashira says it's like how Chantalyn has such an infectious personality, right? It's like that
  • "Oh she's like an energy vampire"
  • "Don't. call. Luca. an energy vampire."
  • Oh Charlie's getting mad
  • Nerys says she's like an empathy sink. Charlie takes offense to that, as well
  • Charlie says we're not doing this, they need to find the models, and he won't listen to them bad mouth Luca.
  • "I'm not bad mouthing anyone" argues Chantalyn.
  • "You called her an energy vampire just a second ago"
  • "No I just said it sounds like an energy vampire, I don't understand"
  • Nerys tries to de-escalate
  • Charlie isn't sure why Luca would be outside? It doesn't make sense
  • Ruckus asks if there's something else going on, maybe? Something else to Luca's ability?
  • Charlie says "I don't think so, I don't understand why fey would-"
  • Oh, shit
  • "Wait I thought her name was Luca?"
  • Damien says she has a middle name they go by sometimes
  • "Oh yeah I know someone like that"
  • Yashira says they're jumping the gun, they don't even know it was Luca. They ask Linden for a description?
  • Linden seems out of it. He asks Chantalyn who these people are?
  • Chantalyn gives a quick explanation, all the others are missing. So she hired "Yashira Medani, best detective in Sharn. Everybody knows her, she's really, really famous"
  • Oh god
  • She speaks way too fast here for me to write it down, but it's great
  • "But also I'm like, worried about you. And like, everybody else, this is 2/6 it's not even half. Not a passing grade. I just want to make sure everyone's okay"
  • "So I need to know who made you sad. Who made you upsetti spaghetti in your tumbly wumbly?"
  • They describe the play and how it made them feel, it was sad but normal, but then they saw that woman and it got so much worse. So much worse. It's not just sadness, it's apathy, they don't care. There's no point in anything. They've been robbed and they don't even care.
  • Chantalyn says she thinks they've been drugged, and it's really important that they know who did it. If they're connected to the gallery, there's some supernatural shit going on, and they need to know. Please, can they think beyond the sadness (as she puts their hands on their face). "I need you to remember past the sadness. I need you to look at me, know that I trust you and you trust me, and we're in this mutual trusting thing and understand that I know you're so good."
  • "We need to find everyone else, cos I'm like really scared that they're dead"
  • Linden describes "piercing blue eyes, long black hair, a scarf or ruffle or something, gloves"
  • Nerys gasps, could that be Lakashtai?
  • Yashira says that Lakashtai has green eyes.
  • Damien says she makes people feel other things, not sadness
  • Nerys wracks their brain and tries to identify what's going on with Linden. Everything is consistent with how they've felt when in Luca's presence, but Linden seems to have been effected more severely
  • Nerys verbalises this, but that they don't think it was necessarily malicious intent on Luca's part.
  • Yashira asks Charlie if Luca ever talks about people that she once knew? Maybe there's someone like her with the same capabilities?
  • Ban says "like a cousin"
  • "Maybe someone who came to see her play?"
  • Charlie looks down, flushed, and says she hasn't mentioned anyone. "She can't be involved in this"
  • Yashira says her gut is telling her it's not Luca, there's something that's not quite right
  • "She's not one to wander or really go out?"
  • Nerys asks can't they just go ask her?
  • "I guess we could, but she's not one to just give us the answers. Even with the Chantalyn situation she was vague"
  • Chantalyn is fauning over Linden. "I didn't know you were allergic to crying, I didn't know that being sad could effect you like this!"
  • "I still think you were poisoned! I don't think that being sad would've done this to you! I don't know this playwright they're talking about and I don't think they were involved, I think this is just a freak accident. Someone wanted to hurt me and they've hurt you"
  • Nerys puts their hand on Chantalyn's shoulder to try and comfort her.
  • Chantalyn clears her throat. "Okay, Linden can you get yourself back to the hotel or do you need me to escort you?"
  • Linden gets up and says they think it'll be fine, but Chantalyn just gets the vibe that they shouldn't be left alone.
  • "Okay, Linden, look at me. Look at me. I'm really sorry to do this to you, but I need you to know that it's because I love you and because you are beautiful and I'll have to figure out someone who fits your shape and size for tomorrow, but life is worth living, and sometimes it requires a hard touch to remember that."
  • She then punches them with the power of the sparkly silver flame in her heart. This violently snaps them out of the stupor, but also gives them a black eye.
  • It does dispel the fey bullshit though
  • "Chantalyn what the fuck!?"
  • "She is a trained exorcist and sometimes you've just gotta slap a bitch"
  • "Linden, are you hot?"
  • "Yeah! Maybe less so now you fucking psycho"
  • "How much gold does it take to get you out of bed in the morning?"
  • "No less than 1000 galifars, Chantalyn, you will be getting a bill"
  • "Yes, you capitalist little horror you. Make your way back to the hotel, I trust you, I have rats watching you"
  • "What the fuck does that mean!?"
  • "We have some other models to save"
  • "What did you mean about the rats!?"
  • She holds up Ratalyn Sarhain. "You don't need to know, Linden. It's a whole thing."
  • "All you need to know is that I'll know if you don't make it."
  • Linden puts their head in their hands, is a bit flabbergasted, and says "fuck you, I'll see you tomorrow"
  • Yashira is taken aback. "well...done. Do you punch your models often? Or does that only happen when the situation arises"
  • Chantalyn sighs. "I've lived a very long time on this Eberron."
  • "How old are you?"
  • "You can't ask a girl her age"
  • "You can in this situation"
  • "Old enough"
  • "Older than 30?"
  • "Older than what?"
  • "30"
  • "I'm like over thirtyyyy"
  • "But under 40"
  • "yeaah cos like 40 comes after 30"
  • Mhmm
  • "Mhmm, been on this Eberron a long time"
  • "yeah cos like most hot girls careers are over when they're like 24"
  • "Wow what a rough existence"
  • "Yeah but you've still got some time left"
  • "Chantalyn I'm 30"
  • "Oh my god that's crazy, I totally couldn't tell from the skin issues"
  • "Do I have skin issues!?"
  • "Anyway sometimes you just have to punch someone. I literally told you earlier I wanted to punch someone"
  • "But it was a spell!?"
  • "Yeah sometimes someone's just got like, shit up in there and you've gotta punch it out. You know like when someone's just not themselves and there's like a couple things you can do like therapy, and you should do therapy, but also you can do like spells on them to change their mind stuff. And sometimes you use the sparkly silver flame in your heart and you slap them really hard and that fixes it"
  • "yeah...sure. Okay. Mhmm"
  • Yashira does a gesture with her hand, trying to summon the sparkly silver flame, but nothing. 
  • "I guess my hot girl era is over, the silver flame won't come for me"
  • "No the silver flame can come for you anytime, you're girlbossing it as an old lady"
  • Oh my god
  • Damien makes a comment about age, and Chantalyn says he should probably start thinking about his funeral. Especially as he's an adventurer, dangerous line of work.
  • "Only temporarily. I have plans for my 40's"
  • Chantalyn looks at Charlie
  • "I plan to run Passage's railways."
  • Big aspirations
  • Nerys says that they think Damien will be a silver fox. Chantalyn goes "oh my god are you a druid? You can turn into animals?"
  • "...yes"
  • They start grilling him on why he's never done that before??
  • "We had rats, I didn't need to!"
  • "But you could've been a bird!"
  • "Oh I can't do birds"
  • Yashira says "yeah I mean have you seen birds in this city? it's terrible"
  • They look over and see a black heron, and they swear it shrugs??
  • They decide not to look for birds anymore
  • "Damien's not dying, so I don't know why we're talking about this" says Charlie
  • Damien is going to live to the ripe old age of 110
  • They ask Chantalyn what her funeral plans are?
  • "I'm going to be the oldest hottest chick in Thrane, when I die there's gonna be like fireworks, and then they're going to take me into the deepest darkest depths into the Harrowcrowns and lay my decrepit body on a bed of fuschia flower petals. Then as the forest's demons and ghosts and horrible little creatures start to consume my body, I'm going to erupt into silver flames and burn the whole forest down."
  • Her plans are to cause a wildfire?
  • "Yeah it's like an evil forest, that's why I'm the minister of Siyar, no one else can fight the horrid little beasties that come out of the forest. I'm the only one, cos I killed a bear once"
  • Grand plans all around
  • Nerys asks where they're going?
  • "Back to the gallery now that the dwarf is safe"
  • It happened again! They started the session with the intention to go to the gallery and they still haven't done it!
  • Nerys wants to talk to Luca. They could...
  • Yashira asks Charlie, what does he think? They could go ask Luca. If he wants, maybe he could ask her on his own and they can wait outside?
  • There are things Charlie wants to ask her, alone, but he's not sure it's the right time.
  • Yashira says they're in the area. Okay.
  • He goes to speak to Luca.
  • He walks right into the theatre, despite it being closed, and knocks on her door. She doesn't sleep, so he knows she'll be awake.
  • "Come in, Charlie"
  • "We need to talk"
  • She examines him for a second and then puts down the quill. "Yeah...sure. What's going on?"
  • "We found a dwarf in an alleyway that saw you outside and may have fainted. Do you know anything about that?"
  • "No."
  • "Is there anyone else in the city who may have similar powers to you? I hate to ask, but shit's getting weird"
  • "I don't think so"
  • Hmm
  • "It's an awful coincidence that you put on Fallen Angels, after not having it on show in a while, and now I'm rooting out a Radiant Idol."
  • "Is that right?"
  • Charlie takes a deep breath, and sits down. He doesn't make eye contact.
  • "I don't know whether you know, because I don't know what you see when you check in on me, but I've been learning necromancy. I don't want to have any secrets from you, I should've told you before and I didn't. I'm sorry."
  • "I don't...see how that's any of my business." She's not making eye contact.
  • Charlie asks if he's done something wrong? Something is weird.
  • "You would tell me if there was something wrong though, wouldn't you? You would tell me"
  • She makes eye contact with him and the force of her aura hits him like a lightning rail. "Charlie, of anyone, you would be the person I would tell"
  • He starts crying and pulls her into a hug.
  • "I don't know what's going on with this radiant idol, but I'm going to find out. If there's something else that can do what you can, I need to find it, I don't want you to get in trouble."
  • "It doesn't do the same thing I can."
  • "What?"
  • She chokes. "It doesn't make people sad. It doesn't take away their hope. I suppose it does ruin lives, but not in the same way."
  • "Don't talk about yourself like that. I have hope, and part of that is from you. You can't take that away. Even if I have got snot all over your jacket. Like I said, I'm gonna sort this. I just wanted to check."
  • He slaps his knees and goes to leave, but she catches him. "Charlie, be careful. A radiant idol is a serious threat."
  • "I know, but I have the team, and a Sarhain who is a lot, but they're good. If she can punch the angel like she punched the dwarf in that alleyway we'll be fine."
  • "Okay. I'm...I'm sorry I can't help more." He goes to leave, but stops to tell a joke before he leaves. It doesn't land. She stares at him and then goes "what?"
  • As he walks out, he just catches her saying "sorry" under her breath
  • They debate abandoning all of their missions to just try and make Luca happy. Charlie gets back to the others and it's obvious he's been crying, he's a bit of a mess.
  • Nerys hands him a handkerchief, and so does Damien, I'm a bit confused about who did what but we'll edit it in post.
  • "It wasn't her, but it was maybe the Radiant Idol? Luca doesn't make people lose hope, but I think we'll find it in the art gallery"
  • Nerys asks if the idol is also messing with Luca? 
  • Yashira says "is it possible...from my understanding, Radiant Idols kinda become what people put on them? Is it possible someone witnessed her play and it took on her appearance?"
  • It's...possible?
  • "It could just steal her likeness and take credit for her work? Like serial killers get copycats?"
  • Yashira ponders if it saw the play and it left an impression, influenced it
  • They try to remember the play. The angel in the play was an angel of Hope, initially granting it and later taking it away after being corrupted. Maybe Yashira is onto something.
  • "But what does that have to do with the models?" - Chantalyn
  • "I think it's just really bad timing to be honest with you, Chantalyn" - Yashira
  • But most of them weren't even down here? Only Linden?
  • Nerys suggests that maybe her fashion show gives people hope and it feels threatened?
  • This is the worst, they can't have Luca's reputation getting smeared because of an imposter!!
  • Almost as important as finding the models! They need to save art!
  • Okay, no more dicking around, to the art gallery!


  • It's like the middle of the night now, they won't be able to go in normally. They'll have to break in.
  • Nerys asks if any of them can lockpick? Nope, none of them at all
  • Definitely not Yashira
  • Nerys suggests getting food before heading to the gallery, to keep the bit alive. Damien hands them a granola bar, and Ban deflates
  • Ban gives them a power bar
  • They get to the door, there aren't any windows on the facade. It's built into the wall of the tower. They can see through the door that the lights are on inside.
  • Ban asks about windows, but they can't find any. Yashira says she can pick the lock if they keep an eye out.
  • Ban gasps and says "that's illegal"
  • Yashira kneels down and puts a hand on his shoulder, and goes "yes it is, but if you don't tell anyone, it's not illegal anymore. It'll be like we were never here"
  • Damien says you can't make an omelet without breaking some eggs
  • Yashira progresses, sometimes the law gets in the way of doing what's right. "We'll get through this"
  • Ban sniffs a little and says "okay"
  • Yashira asks if they can check for any magic traps or anything? This is a nice, wealthy neighbourhood.
  • Charlie and Nerys walk up to the door and does some wibbly wobbly magic stuff. They confirm that there is some kind of enchantment on the door.
  • Ah. Best not to just pick the lock, then.
  • Yashira asks if they know what the spell does? They don't
  • They could spend longer to try and figure it out? Charlie and Nerys can keep trying to crack the enchantment on the door and the others can look around for windows or something.
  • Damien only needs sight into the building to get in.
  • They explore a bit, trying to find maintenance shafts for the tower to see if there's an alternate entrance into the gallery. They find their way on top of the gallery, where there's a glass dome that contains some kind of garden. There's an artificial light inside, so it lights up the surrounding area too. That's an option, Damien can teleport in. They return to Charlie and Nerys.
  • In the meantime, they were examining the enchantment on the door. They identify there's multiple layers of magic at play, it's actually quite impressive magework, but at the very least there's an alarm.
  • Yashira says they're not getting rid of that then.
  • "Why don't we just come back when it's open?"
  • "Not enough time."
  • "We can try to get through the door but there's an alarm. I don't know if it'll just alert one person or let the whole neighbourhood know that we're breaking in."
  • Yashira then goes "oh, yeah, I haven't asked. How are you all feeling about breaking in and potentially getting arrested?"
  • Charlie was arrested once in Wroat apparently.
  • "Wait what?"
  • "Just me and my friend, we were doing something and then we got arrested"
  • This is hard to believe
  • Chantalyn flips her hair and says "I'm too rich to be arrested"
  • Ban would rather not get arrested
  • Nerys has never been arrested
  • Damien says there's no cell that can hold him!
  • Ban's just worried about the cost to his family, the reputation. He's respected
  • Yashira does clarify she's never been formally arrested.
  • "We have a very loving relationship, me and the local police"
  • What a quote
  • The point is, they don't have to do this. They could come back tomorrow when it's open. It just means even less time.
  • Ruckus asks what she's hoping to find in here?
  • Yashira says they already have the ledger, they know it's related. There could be documents, or something, clues that lead them to the right person. Or there could be nothing. Something is just telling her that if they go in now, they'll have more free reign to explore and find what they need to find.
  • Nerys suggests a vote.
  • Option One! Doing a crime! Charlie noncommitally raises his hand, Ruckus and Yashira raise their hands. Chantalyn puts both of her hands up. She really wants to do a crime.
  • Ban put his hand up but then processed what was said and puts it back down
  • "I don't want to pull this card but I am paying you so I should get two votes"
  • Yashira says they shouldn't have to pay, "I'll do it for free cos you're a family member of...somebody I know"
  • But Chantalyn has money! Yashira also has money
  • "Wait Yashira you're rich?" - Nerys
  • "I thought you were just a Medani" - Chantalyn
  • "What did you think Medani meant? You know what a dragonmarked house is, right?"
  • "There's poor marked people!"
  • Nerys argues that House Tharashk have been competing with them recently!
  • "I wouldn't say that"
  • "yeah they're losing relevance"
  • "No! No, they aren't"
  • "Okay like are we kicking this door down or what?"
  • "No we have another entry point"
  • Chantalyn reiterates that she's rich so they won't get arrested.
  • Is that how that works?
  • Yashira argues kinda, they can pay people off, but it's better if they just don't get arrested.
  • In and out, twenty minute adventure
  • They go round the side again and head up to the greenhouse dome.
  • There is an issue though. It's not a window, it doesn't open. Damien can teleport in, but the rest of them?
  • Maybe he could go in, go to the front door and open it for them? That might not disable the alarm though.
  • Charlie notices one of the glass panes frame is a bit warped, so he uses his ice magic to exacerbate that lil issue. The pane falls into the garden and shatters. A dog starts barking.
  • "You know what they say, when the Sovereigns close a door they open a window"
  • Yashira tells him well done, and Chantalyn said it looked really cool
  • And hey it was quieter than how Ruckus would've got in
  • That also would've been cool though
  • Time to not get arrested! Especially Ban, he can't get arrested
  • They need a way down. There is a fish pond in there.
  • Chantalyn asks god if they're nice fish? Turns out she's a big fish gal, there's some fish you can eat and some fish you can't eat! They've also got bones. There's even fish that aren't technically fish, like starfish, they're not fish
  • Sounds like an expert to me
  • Nerys asks if these fish are edible? Chantalyn says no, these are colourful fish, they're for looking at. They're also controlling the mosquito population.
  • "What?" - Yashira, every day
  • Damien is flabbergasted, why are they talking about eating the fucking fish? Could you imagine, they break into the gallery and eat all the fish
  • Chantalyn comes up with a plan. Okay so Damien can just teleport in. Then Charlie can jump and Damien will catch him. Then Ruckus can jump and the other two will catch him. Then Ban can jump and the other three will catch him. Then Nerys can jump, and the other four can catch Nerys.
  • "Why do they need 4 of them to catch me?"
  • "We're just going in order of smallest to biggest, except for Charlie who has to go after Damien"
  • Then Yashira can jump and the other 5 can catch her, and then she can jump and all of them can catch her!
  • Damien says he could just teleport each of them in one by one, but it would be exhausting.
  • Oh he also has a rope btw
  • That's perfect, even, cos it means they can climb back out at the end!
  • Ban comments that they do end up jumping off of high things a lot
  • Rope is the plan!!
  • Damien starts preparing the rope. Chanty puts a hand on Charlie's shoulder and goes "I tried"
  • Charlie apologises for "saying stuff before"
  • "Hey, listen. We're cool. I only hold grudges against absolute cunts, and you're not. You're like cunty, but you're not a cunt. Does that make sense?"
  • "I do hope I serve cunt"
  • "Yeaaaaa exactly! We'll talk about it later"
  • The rope is ready. Damien teleports into the garden. There's some really interesting smells in here. He turns around and he's right next to a weird purple flower. It smells like longing, and curiosity, and a desire to see something called the Mountainsoul? But it's really, really far away. He stares at the flower for a long time, and then looks back at the others and goes "I don't even like being cold, what?"
  • Ruckus comments that he's losing it.
  • Yashira goes down next to make sure Damien isn't losing it. Chantalyn calls down "that's what jackets are for!"
  • She scurries down the rope expertly, and she smells longing. Longing for the Mountainsoul.
  • "I mean you're right but we've got so much to do we can't go now"
  • "Do you know where it is?"
  • "No but we should research it"
  • They both write down "find mountainsoul" in their notebooks
  • Then they look up the others and tell them to come down
  • Charlie goes down next. He is not good at rope climbing. He falls. Damien leaps into action to catch him, and does so. They both fall to the ground at the edge of the fish pond.
  • "No Charlie! if you get injured how will we travel to the Mountainsoul together?"
  • Charlie is far enough away from the flower that he doesn't smell longing, but he's feeling it anyway
  • "Are you alright, Charlie? You need to be careful"
  • "I'm fine. Thank you"
  • Aww they're flustered. Damien's blushing.
  • "Right, back to the mission"
  • "yeah, yeah, yeah"
  • Nerys elbows Chantalyn
  • Then they climb down the rope. The rope is close to the flower, so they are filled with longing and a desire to see the Mountainsoul. They start crying.
  • "It's okay Nerys we've already made plans to go see it"
  • Charlie asks to see what?
  • "I don't know but once we figure out what and where it is, we'll go"
  • "What?"
  • Damien explains, the Mountainsoul! They don't know what it is but they definitely want to see it
  • Damien then introduces Charlie to the flower. It's so weird, it smells of longing for the Mountainsoul.
  • "oh...the Mountainsoul"
  • Of course
  • Ban goes next, into the longing room. He unceremoniously falls, and everyone tries to catch him at once.
  • They lock arms and create a lil Ban basket and it's a nice gentle landing.
  • Yashira asks if he's okay? "Amazing, now you can come with us to find the Mountainsoul"
  • "The what?"
  • Damien says "yeah we couldn't go to the Mountainsoul without Ban"
  • Okay now Ruckus. His backpack is so heavy, so he also falls. 
  • They others try to catch him, and do the same thing, they already have the Ban basket ready to go.
  • Chantalyn calls down that it's really rude of them to say they aren't going to go with her plan but then go with her plan, and also is this a bad time to say she's afraid of heights?
  • She tries to climb the rope, and her fear gets the better of her and she just freezes at the top of the rope. She also realises she's wearing very expensive gloves, tries to take them off, and falls.
  • They really did end up going with her plan.
  • Yashira pulled the basket over, and though Chantalyn's weight does get dispersed through the whole group, she is much more in Yashira's arms. Oh and there's a whiff of longing the air.
  • She looks into Yashira's eyes, reaches up and tucks Yashira's hair behind her ear, and goes "I really wanna go see the Mountainsoul"
  • Yashira's face and the tips of her ears go read. She takes in a deep breath. "Yeah we really do need to go see the Mountainsoul, after this. You okay? Haven't broken any bones? That would be really bad for the Mountainsoul expedition"
  • "Yeah I'm good. Your arms are like really nice"
  • Okay okay
  • "Thank you that's factually accurate" and then she drops her and rubs her arms.
  • They can't get arrested bro, they're so fucking stupid.
