The Boromar Clan is the largest, and most powerful, criminal organisation in Sharn. They were originally an immigrant family from the Talenta Plains, but over time have become one of the most powerful families in Sharn, who manage most illicit activity in the city. They also own a number of legitimate businesses, and are in good social standing in the city, with one of their number sitting on the Sharn Council and the family being considered one of the Sharn Sixty. The family also has ties to House Jorasco through marriage, further reinforcing their position in Sharn society.
Many of the Sharn Watch's officers are in the Boromar's pockets, combined with the above, allowing them to operate with a level of impunity that the other criminal organisations in Sharn cannot. Their criminal activities are an open secret in the city, everbody knows what they're doing, but officially they aren't doing anything wrong. They largely don't prey on the people they see every day, instead targetting travelers and tourists, and they are active in their communities which leads some to consider them as almost heroes.
The Boromar's dominance of Sharn's underworld has been recently disrupted by the presence of Daask since 996 YK, who have begun to operate in Boromar territory in the lower city and take over their holdings.
