About
'The Veil' is the name given to the phenomenon that completely shielded Enochia from outside interference until the cataclysm of The Conflux. Its origin remains shrouded in mystery, and prior to The Conflux, its existence was unknown to the inhabitants. Only after mortals started using the Godstones did The Gods reveal the Veil's nature, explaining why they had not made their presence known sooner.
While it faltered briefly amidst the chaos of the Conflux, The Veil returned to continue to shield the Enochian mortals soon after. However, its return was not as impervious as it was prior, showing glimpses of vulnerability believed to have been caused by the world's upheaval.
Characteristics
- Protection: The Veil safeguards Enochia from external influence.
- Origin: The origin of the Veil is still a mystery.
- Vulnerability: The Veil is not impervious anymore, with rare gaps that allow for limited external influence.
Today
The Veil continues to protect Enochia from outside interference to this date, with Godstones seemingly the only reliable method of connecting with the worlds beyond.
However, it is not as strong as it was, and both good and evil forces have sensed this weakness, seeking to exploit every crack, however small, to interfere with the lives of the inhabitants of Enochia.
Some people revere the Veil as a symbol of autonomy, while many ancient races have turned to worship Veilmother, viewing her as their true creator worthy of their worship.
Conversely, others, particularly devout believers in The Gods, see the Veil as a hindrance to their worship, as it limits their access to divine influence. Some people actively seek to understand and dismantle the Veil, hoping to find the secret to tearing it down.
Regardless, the Veil is a phenomenon familiar to most, yet its origin remains enveloped in mystery.
