Edmund was following a flyer he had seen in regard to a potential job opportunity. Here is where he met a fellow former student along with others who would eventually be his teammates. After being hired on by Diana Voxville, he and the others proceeded on an escort mission to Kawit. Before doing so, he was required to sign a terms and condition. Being the only person to carefully read the terms properly he was able to learn that Diana had all authority to imprison those she hired should she deem their work ethic to be unsatisfactory or she feels like they may have defiled her or the kingdom in any way. Signing the terms as "Leon Clement", his fate was still sealed.
He and the other's made their way to Myzopodis. During their initial embarkment, Edmund was privy to an argument between Adalric Norman and Diana. He didn't acknowledge it and proceeded into the carriage. As they took off, they all overheard a town crier announce an incident that had occurred at Frecia Academy of Magic. After inquiring a little more, he told the princess to focus on the task at hand. He assured her that the academy was in good hands, and they needed to press on.
Eventually Edmund, Gaius, and even Diana herself all took up the reigns of the carriage but where ambushed by a group of bandits. He, alongside the others, fought off the bandits leaving one alive for questioning. Gaius asked what their purpose was to which the bandit replied to theft and a potential hostage situation. Strapping the hostage to the horse they continued their trek where they would eventually turn them into the soldiers that littered the port city.
Upon their arrival, Diana instructed them all to explore the city and the ship that they would be sailing on while she spoke with the captain. Edmund pointed out to Winston Constantine, that perhaps this was a vessel he should not sail pointing out a previous conversation the two had had in regard to Winston's little scandal. After a few more remarks and banter back and forth, Ryver came into the conversation. He fondled Gidget and revealed that he was also a half-being of some kind. Edmund observed his unique physique and his mute behavior as they were all guided onto the Mad Hatter.
The team met up with The Aces, a crew of pirates who was hired on by Diana to transport them to Kawit. Aboard the main deck was Deino Jormun, Natsuru, and Temple. Temple showed Edmund the various centipedes he had and inquired about any dietary restrictions. Edmund explained that he did not have any but when Gidget mentioned eating fish, he noted Ryver's reaction. Ryver revealed more of his fish like nature prompting Edmund to take notes.
Diana returned and explained that they were going to be working on the ship in exchange for the travels. She was nervous about sailing, as was Gidget, and explained that there may be a potential attack on the vessel. There was an incident that had occurred involving one of the now crew members which may be the cause of another attack. Rest assured, they all went to the tavern to have one final drink and dinner on land before they reach Kawit. Here is where Dianna asked if anyone had any experiences with royal introductions. Edmund piped up and even provided an example upon Diana's request. She was satisfied with the results and everyone turned in for the night.
The following morning, they were all woken up by the loud voice of Ryver in their heads. Diana was already up and about while the rest were handed materials to work with or on while they prepared to set sail. It wasn't long before the winter weather of Divelinson was gone, and they were on their way to Kawit. However, the peace didn't last long before an encounter ensued with a group of sirens. Noting the features of these creatures on the deck, Edmund saw similarities to them and the young fish man.
Later on, Edmund found himself under siege along with the rest of his team when Ryver and a few others had taken control over the ship. Ryver and the enemies separated the crew and the team taking Edmund to an unknown place.
