Demon Kukri

Demon Kukri

In a corner table at The Hound and Demon tavern adventures can find an old blacksmith named Abbott. Late in an evening, when Abbot has consumed enough ale, he often tells the tale of a legendary blade, the Demon Kukri.   Abbott’s tale is of his predecessor Onath, who owned his forge before him. Years ago, after that years Great Storm had passed, Onath was recovering his power crystals when he found a strange rock in a field surrounding his home. Believing the rock was a meteorite Onath used it to forge a short sword, he called Kurki.

Weeks passed and the frequency of demons in the area saw a sudden spike in appearances. This drew the interest of several groups including demon hunters and an investigator from The Enclave. Abbott says that the investigator charged Onath with practicing magic and she arrested Onath and claimed the sword Kukri.

Abbott never saw Onath again but found his journal in his shop. Onath’s notes contained ramblings of his usage of the blade to slaughter livestock. When left overnight, the head of a decapitated animal would spawn a demon. Onath was trying to find a buyer for his blade when the investigator charged him with spellcasting.
