A minor kingdom culturally similar to historical Westphalia. Franco-Teutonic with strong Bavarian and Austrian cultural and heritage influences. Modes of dress can be compared to Central and East-Central Europe circa 1740 to 1790. With Waistcoats and Frockcoats common for men. Breeches and culottes worn to the knee or mid calf. Boots to the knee or mid-thigh, worn over hose or socks of either knee length or full to the waist. Shirts are often mid-thigh in length, with a fairly close, high collar designed to be worn with a cravat or neckerchief. Form fitting to the chest so as to be work comfortably under a waistcoat or long vest, with wide, flaring sleeves for ease of fighting mobility and work. Gauntlet style leather gloves are common among the well-bred.
Culinarily, the food is closely based on the cuisine of France and western Germany. With Wine as prevalent as bier and ale, and a number of lager and pilsner varietals. Breads both heavy and hearty and light and fluffy. Stews, soups, goulashes, and the regionally specific 'Casserole' are common. Game meats including venison, quail, pheasant are as common as beef, pork and chicken, with significant goose and duck inclusion. And sausages are perhaps more prevalent in Gran Albionne than in most of North Morely. Being commonly eaten every day as a breakfast of lunch meal item.
Culturally, the kingdom is more martially inclined than some due to a prevalence of bestial and humanoid monstrous threats. Military service is by and large mandatory for either two or four years for the middle and upper classes, with the peasant and lower trade class being exempt except in times of war. Where conscription is common and not considered dolorous or unusual. Most citizens have some small degree of military training as a result and militias can be quickly raised by nobles as needed with little disruption to local life. Women are welcome in military ranks, especially if exceptionally tough and sturdy or promiscuous. And little shame is assigned to what would be considered loose morals in other nations. So long as reasonable discretion is maintained. And public bawdiness is kept to a minimum.
Gran Albionne can be considered notable for it's use of the Aeromantic Explosive Expansion munitions in a degree nearly as ubiquitous as other nations use of bows and crossbows. Air pistols and muskets are regular military armament. And it is not unusual to see folk going about in the cities and towns armed in such a manner. The Windlock Pistol is an accepted dueling weapon recognized by the crown. The Royal Woodsmen, chartered hunters for the crown and aristocracy routinely utilize these quiet, ingenious weapons.
