These imposing pauldrons are crafted from the hide of some unknown creature, A stylized trident intertwined with a shadowy net is crafted into the lather, providing enhanced protection and durability to the wearer. The pauldrons have the following properties:
Like all Magic items in the world of Alcott, they are powered by a writ arcanum. It takes a Investigation Check DC: 10 check to find it but there is a hidden pocket that lets you insert a Writ. When found by the party this one had one already added to it, but it is broken.
In true gladiator this magical armor only helps if the creature is not wearing any armor.
Titanic Resilience: While wearing these pauldrons, your base Armor Class increases by +2.
Unyielding Defense: Once per short rest, as a reaction to being hit by an attack, you can activate the pauldrons to gain resistance to that damage type until the start of your next turn.
You can use this feature once, and you regain its use when you finish a short or long rest.
Stalwart Stance: When you enter a rage, the pauldrons grant you advantage on Strength saving throws and Dexterity saving throws until the rage ends.
These pauldrons not only bolster the Barbarian's Armor Class but also provide additional defensive benefits, making the wearer a formidable tank on the battlefield. The Stalwart Stance ability synergizes well with the Barbarian's raging nature, enhancing their resilience against various forms of attacks.
