As the people prepared to leave, Agis approached me in my solitude. I lived outside the border of TroBridge under a small tent, if you consider a cloth over two sticks stuck into the sand, a tent. Under this tent I lived for 10 years, whatever time is a year I dont know that’s just what the villagers say in passing when I gather my water. I’m surprised as Agis walked to my tent. The reason I live here is to serve as a lookout, the real reason is I live outside the village so I would be out of the village so i’m surprised as the leader approached me. I did not greet him but he greeted me, something must be wrong for him to do this, it must be some reason why the village is preparing to leave. I have heard that he speaks to the water so I figured the reason why the village is leaving is that Sea has spoken to Agis to. I’m surprised by what Agis offered me, he wanted me to lead the people to water. After a poss I exempted, Sea told me I needed to do a quest before she would give the ultimate task. I wonder if Agis is helping Sea test me.
We have been walking through the sands for three days, I’m not used to walking in front of everyone even though it’s been three days. In the middle of the day while the sun was in the center of the sky, Joe stopped me. He has spotted something in the distance, he and his sister Selise wanted to scout ahead and Agis has already been given them the go ahead. I waited patiently for their return. I hope there’s no threat. I’m no fighter. Im relieved as they return, they go to speak to Agis and a dragon born who seems very protective of Agis. As they spoke there was an explosion of sand as time froze. A giant beast covered in plates of bone shredded one of our wagons. I ran faster than I have ever run in my life, I’m surprised when I noticed Agis has already started running. Others managed to bring the other two wagons with use as this monster tired into one of ours. When we ran a distance away and I got a moment to catch my breath. A group wanted to go back for more, if they wanted to risk their own lives then it’s their lives to give. Joe, Selise, his sister and their little brother oni along with the Dragon born. As they went back I will be honest I wasn’t expecting them to come back but, not only did they come back they also managed to gain some water as well. As we gathered the resources we have onto the last to wagons as Joe and Oni guided us to a giant rock that they assumed would protect us from this monster. We finally reached the rock but a man I’m not acquainted with seemed to be upset about something. This stranger was apparently found in the sands and the village took him in, lucky basterd. I should learn to trust this stranger more because as the stranger froze in fear the beast shot out of the sands and charged use. We managed to climb the rock but we lost Jim and Bob as we ran for their lives.
As I took time to breathe I’m thankful to still have all my limbs, I can still feel the rumbles of the beast as it circles our rock haven. In this time of exhaustion my intention is driven to one the plants that make this rock home. As I walk to the plant I can feel the presence of Sea within it. I broke a twig from it and pure water came forth from its wound. I thought this is the pure water I was looking for, I missed talking to Sea so much but Sea did not speak. Is the water not as pure as I thought? Joe and his siblings call down to the survivors, they wanted to explore the rest of the rock. The stranger and the dragon born whose name I know is Nessyassa, I’ll call her Ness. I teach some others how to gain water from these blessed plants and I follow.
As I climb up to the top of this rock my jaw drops as I see the visage of a ghost, a cursed phantom. We all stood away from this phantom as it speaked tongs outloud to use except for the stranger. The stranger babled along with the ghost, maybe the ghost just wanted some attention? That’s what I thought but the ghost walked off and the stranger explained that the ghost was a great wizard who died after trying to conquer the land, serving him right this land is protected by sea. Joe oni, and Selice found skeletons who lived there before use but after the wizard. Paintings on the rocks show their fall to madness, is that our fate as well? Oni continues up the rock, I follow because I’m curious about what’s on the other side. That was a mistake as vultures thought I would be an easy meal, they were not wrong. The bird pecked into my flesh and I fell to the ground. My next memory was a sensation of water dripping down my through, Agis swiftly hides the bottle and beganes chanting as I gain a portion, I now realize that Agis was never a friend to Sea, this saddens me. As I recollect my consenes, It seems the others have been exploring the rock and found secrets in its cracks. One of which was a tunnel blocked by a door. The stranger said the door had “death behind this point” on the door. Everyone was surprised that he could read, only the evil read. I didn’t know what reading was so I made a surprised jester pretending that I gave a shit. After a night’s rest we returned to the doorway and Selise had already unlocked it. Selise is clever which is a rare trait in the sands and she’s blessed by Sea to have it but I wish she wasn’t such a trickster. They decided to climb down the tonel and I stay behind and make sure to blow my horn if the monster disappears beneath the sands. A lot of time passed until the monster stopped moving and I immediately blew my horn, but it was too late I could hear the screams. I run down the tunnel to see the monster chasing them. As Joe and oni run by me up the tunnel I follow and we all make it, except the dragon born ness. She was brave and held off the beast at the cost of her life.I walked off in solitude and prayed to Sea that her soul would be protected but there was no answer. Sea hasn’t spoken to me since she gave me this mission, and I haven’t felt so lonely. Sea has been my only friend for such a long time. When I walk back to the group I can see the blood shed in the other eye, they will kill this beast, survival is only a second thought now. They came up with a scheme to kill the beast as I had other plans. As they worked on preparing the rock a dug underneath one of the plants to find its water source. This was a mistake, I killed the plant and found no water. As everyone else prepared to kill the beast I joined them, I’m just a burden at this point I should have stayed to look out. I walked beyond the stone and waited to push on command. Oni the crazy child was leading the monster and was acting like but, what a mad lad. The adrenaline of the moment kicked in and I pushed with all my might but it wasn’t enough, damit even now I fail everyone. It was at this moment that Joe stepped aside and pushed the rock over. There was a solid second of solace before a loud crunch filled the air, the beast is dead and ness has been avenged!
After covering the leather and bone from the beast, which I have a talent for, I became obsessed with finding pure water. I even tried boiling water but the sea ignored me. I was in despair, I failed Sea but I have one option left. I brightened my plight to the group of people that have been helping the tribe and I have been spending time with. They took my problem very srsly to my surprise. Oni asked his mother for me about pure water but she had no help but to my surprise it was Selise he helped me. She pricked my finger and said I was supposed to spill my blood, my “pure water” for another, and it worked as I felt Sea’s presence again. I’m confused why this was THIS the test but then I looked back to Selise and the others. My great task was them! Sea wants me to protect and help these people grow. When that understanding Sea whispered to my ears of a place where water will no longer be a worry and I’ll guide them there. While the sea was still present within my mind I asked why them? Sea without posing siad “they will free me” and her presence left my mind but not fully. There’s a cool sensation that runs through my veins. Sea has bestowed me with power, I will use it to its full extent.
Before we left this rock Joe and Oni found a lost dragon born who returned one of our beast of burden, Agis welcomed her in. I wonder if Sea has guided her here as well, this Ayassa. We take what resources we have left and walk through the sands. I feel seas’s guidance as I walk confidently forward. There were times where they doubted me but the group stood by me and the rest followed until I saw it, the oasis.
Me and my companions stalked forward to make sure all was safe, it was not. Some insects pretending to be people killed all these people. I listen as the group figures out a plan, I nod pretending I’m calculating with them, which i’m not. Oni was to act like bate again, he acts like he has something to prove, I wonder who he is trying to prove himself to, who ever doesn’t see how capable Oni is a blind fool. The bugs fall for our trap as I get to test Sea blessings and curses in battle and I am humbled. Some manage to run away but the danger has passed, but we were fools because when we returned to our village only blood and death was left. A red Half-dragon mocked their lives, my comrades blessed bye Sea maid short work of the cocky scoundrels. After a short rest Joe tracked the slaves and the survivors and as we walked I thought to myself how I can help these people grow. Joe was confident and not for no reason as he hunted many of prey, he knew how to take a life before most knew how to fight. All he needs is more power and blessing and he will get the job done. Selise was smart and worked in the shadows. She doesn’t need my help to do what she does but I can weaken and distract her enemies and help when her plans do rarely fail. Oni is one of the most capile fighters in the group and he needs to act like it, he doesn’t need to prove anything and needs to fight with a calm mind. He would have fallen a lot of time if not for Sea’s blessings. He needs to think before heading head first to death every battle, it’s really stressful. Ayassa is a force of nature in battle, spewing fire and breaking our enemies with her might. In this sense she alot like joe. A killer, all the help she needs from me is to keep her vitality up as she brings our enemy’s down. The stranger concerns me, his eyes don’t belong to a man’s but a monster, the monsters that killed and attempted to enslave our tribe. The monster is starting to awaken in him along with his powerful mind powers, quite a blessing from the Sea he has. The monster within will grow. I need to be there to help him overcome the monster that slumbers or I dear he will be the greatest danger to use all. As I finish my thought we see the camp in the distance we know what we must do…
