Travel by dark, using Amarion and Familiar Artax to see the walking cadavers before they are noticed themselves.
Arrive at Dundel in the twilight before dawn. Find charred bodies pin cushioned with arrows. Receive a warning shot themselves. Questioned by armoured cavalry guards to make sure they can be trusted. New flags are flying from the walls, a gear on top of a green and white background.
They are let in and escorted to Dundel's Military Ward, where they are locked in the barracks for the night. Their name dropping of Warner Kilner has them guarded until he can identify them the next morning. He informs them that king Dras Gura is in the town, explaining why there are so many well-adorned guards around. They are given a day to recoup and rest before they are to expect a summoning to the keep of The White Castle. They begin training, putting their adventuring knowledge to use, and advancing their disciplines.
The next morning they are summoned to the keep. They see Iravius who barely gets to talk to them before they are thrust in front of the King. They are pleased however, to have a grand introduction, calling out their exploits and achievements. Wolfgang Minerson is sat to the side of the King, a high ranking Servant of the Weave on the monarchs other side. The room is full of people of importance who have travelled with the king to Dundel.
King Dras Gura gets a grand introduction himself, before he speaks of the importance of the parties arrival. Failing in the past few days to speak with them through magical means (due to them being on a different plane), he is glad they have returned to their employer (Minerson).
The King's men have failed to explore the Desecrated Iron Mine to learn more of the Element Stone's magic. Men are dying in the dozens, or going mad in their attempts to explore it. The party however, have braved its depths before, as the King has been informed by Lord Minerson. This, alongside their grand victories for the kingdom, make them the perfect candidates to be the King's eyes, ears and sword. They are to explore, and if possible, clear the mine, so that the Servants of the Weave can extract knowledge of these ancient secrets.
With the promise of great rewards, the highest of honours, and becoming recognised heroes of his country, the King dismisses the party. Their daunting task now publicly pinned to them.
The party return to their training. Much is to be improved for them to brave the trials ahead.
