Knillback grew up in Dundel with his father who worked in the various mines located around the town. When Knillback's father was killed in a mining accident he was made to foster with halfling parents in Greener's Hill. Knillback hated the Minerson family for this decision as they refused his request to become a miner due to his age and the incident with his father.
Knillback studied subterranian life and picked up some skills as a self taught wizard before becoming the infamous Gemcutter . After finding an element stone deep in the abandoned iron mine he frequently explored, he had a source for power that allowed him to easily store spells in gem stone. He used these gems to gain followers from the town, gaining the trust of less fortunate townspeople by gifting them with magic that required no arcane training.
After murdering a jewelist in Dundel Old Town for his gem collection, Knillback became a wanted criminal that the party would soon be tasked to hunt down and bring to justice.
After being held prisoner for three days, Knillback was killed by the party at the Faunar Watchtower after he began to mutate while triggering magic from the element stone.
