After questioning numerous townsfolk, and a few suspects, the investigation leads to an abandoned iron mine south of town.
Here, Knillback Ralinkost, the Gemcutter, has a cult following of impressionable, hard done by town's people. They have been armed to the teeth with Knillback's strange science of spell gems, and will defend him from intruders.
Once Knillback and his followers are defeated, another discovery is made. Something far more mysterious and potentially dangerous lingers in the dark depths of the mine's cavern system.
