As the bright light fades the party see before them an endless sea of reflected stars, wisps of greys and whites stretch in every direction defying perspective. They are falling. All of them falling incredibly fast. It takes them a few moments before they realise that focusing their mind makes them travel in the direction they wish. They soon figure out they are in the Astral Plane. They must focus on hazy formations in the distance to travel anywhere, trying to seek anything in this endless expanse. It takes several hours to reach anything.
Crom and Amarions condition is still a problem, but it is far less troubling than it had been on the Material Plane, damaging them in far slower increments.
The party find a stone body the size of a small mountain range. Roughly humanoid and very weather worn. A flock of birds seem to be gathered and pecking at the formation. When they fly by, Mornington sees that they each have only one eye randomly placed somewhere on its head.
Edward tries to contact his patron and uses his fiendish luck to make it so after an initial struggle. His patron informs him that he is proud of his achievements, and transforms his pearl of power into one with a boost of fiendish energy. He cannot help them directly, and cannot travel to the plane immediately, but can conviene given the time.
The party travel further, finding orbs of floating metal. Amarion retrieves a pound of gold by reaching into one of the same material.
The party move on, next finding a cratered island, sounds of a duel ringing forth, weapon striking weapon. As they peak over the crest, two devilish creatures, one red, one blue, are dueling.
Edward approaches recognising them as thralls of his patron, but surprisingly, once they look him up and down, they charge in to attack. A fight breaks out between the devil soldiers and the party, Crom rushing in to protect them from attacking Edward. After summoning forth a moonbeam and restraining one with entangling vines, Amarion works with Crom to disarm one of the creatures.
As the party get the upper hand, it looks like victory is within arms reach, when suddenly they are all shunted apart by an invisible source. The fight is interrupted by a hurricane of smoke and a mighty wing span bursts from a humanoid figure wrapped in smoke.
Edwards patron arrives, ending the scene of violence.
