We began by taking a short rest, after such a tough fight. After this, we checked the other exit of the room : it actually seemed to be the proper entrance to this place, and it opened to a large empty room, which looked like a holy place with more writings on the wall. Inside, we found three doors: one was similar to the entrance, two were smaller. Behind one, we found old pieces of armors, weapons, etc, and took some.
The other entrance took us to a bridge, which lead to another big open space, and then another door with amber encrusted in it. Whisper decided to take some of that amber, despite Adriel disapproving.
Behind this door was a very ancient city. We walked across, noticing that not much was left. After a while however, Rane saw some movement, and we tried to hide. What he saw however were some sort of skeletons, some with jewelry, some with armors. All of them are undead, but don’t attack us.
We decided to keep walking quietly, until we found an exit through a tunnel. In it, we found a small room that looked like a prayer room, with a statue of Veil. With a history check, we realized this place might come from the dawn of times, after the creation of this world.
We kept walking still, and realized things were beginning to look more weathered as we went. Eventually, we came across a large case in the wall, which was full of book that we couldn’t get out. Whisper only could understand their titles and we had to solve a puzzle.
Once it was done, it opened a door, leading to a library. We all stepped inside, and the door closed behind us. It was very dark, and most of the book were destroyed. Adriel eventually found a book in good condition with a lock on it: it was written in sylvian, and was called “tome of understanding”. This appeared to be an extremely rare book that increases your wisdom and reset every century.
After finding this, we continued walking until we found a hole in the floor, leading to a tunnel underneath. Rane went first in it, and we followed, before moving forward in the tunnel. This place looked like a maintenance tunnel, and it kept getting hotter and hotter. Adriel having a fire resistance, he kept walking by himself for a while, until they found an opening with a pool of lava, some sort of pedestal with a fire elemental standing there. The elemental saw Adriel but didn’t do anything, and Adriel went back to the other, sending messages for them to join him, before going back there.
The room had a almost unbearable heat. Not far from the elemental, two skeletons were standing, apparently guarding him. We also saw glyphs on the pedestal, and eventually, we tried talking to the fire elemental. He spoke, and asked us to release him, explaining that these people used his people as slaves. Apparently, the skeleton people were cursed, and their kind hated the elemental after a war that happened between this plane and the elemental’s plane. His name is Myrios, and he promised to answer our questions if we get him free by killing the guards. We began fighting.
