Dragon Isles

The Dragon Isles were once a land of great magic and wonder, a place where dragons roamed the skies and the illithids lived in the shadows, using their powerful psionic abilities to manipulate the world around them.

The illithids had long been the dominant force on the Dragon Isles, using their powers to control the minds of lesser creatures and bend them to their will. But they had always been wary of the dragons, knowing that the mighty beasts possessed a power and ferocity that even the illithids could not match.

For centuries, the dragons and the illithids coexisted on the Dragon Isles, each group maintaining a careful balance of power. But all that changed when the dwarves arrived.

The dwarves had come seeking new lands to mine and new treasures to uncover. They saw the Dragon Isles as a land ripe for exploitation, with its rich veins of precious metals and powerful magical artifacts.

At first, the dragons and the illithids tried to resist the dwarves, mounting fierce defenses and using their powers to drive off the invaders. But the dwarves were skilled fighters, and they quickly gained the upper hand.

In desperation, the illithids turned to the dragons for help. They offered to ally themselves with the mighty beasts, using their psionic powers to enhance the dragons' already fearsome abilities.

But the dragons were hesitant to join forces with the illithids, knowing that their own power would be diminished if they allowed the mind-controlling creatures to influence their thoughts.

In the end, the dragons and the illithids were both conquered by the dwarves and their newfound allies, the humans. The illithids were driven deep into the shadows, forced to live in hiding and secrecy. The dragons, once the lords of the skies, were forced to submit to the will of their new masters, becoming tools of war and destruction.

The Dragon Isles were forever changed by the arrival of the dwarves and the humans. But even now, centuries later, the legacy of the dragons and the illithids lives on, their ancient powers and knowledge still waiting to be uncovered by those brave enough to seek them out.
