Referral Rewards

Members earn these rewards when the server is actively recruiting. WE ARE CURRENTLY ACTIVELY RECRUITING.

In order to prevent the server population from growing out of control, when the server is not recruiting, these rewards are not granted. Criteria for rewards may change at any time.

Advertising on Social Media/F-List

Activation: Granted when you post an advertisement for this campaign community on a social media service such as Reddit, Twitter, F-list or a Discord Server.

Limit: This is granted once per service per week. Do not spam or post in channels, server or reddits where other members have already posted.

Reward: +10 Karma for each service/channel per week.

Example: Posting to Twitter and Reddit once per week grants +20 Karma.

New Player
Activation: Granted when the new player schedules a game with a complete character sheet. Multiple players can gain this referral by helping a recruit, or recruiting via advertisements.

Reward: Both the recruiters and new player gain +10 Karma

New GM

Activation: When the GM has completed their first game.

Reward: Recruiter gains 25 Karma, and the GM gains an additions 25 Karma (ontop of running a game)

New Content

Content includes: Talents, Signature Paths, Items, Rules, etc usable by players and GMs.

Activation: After content has been approved by a majority vote by all Editors.

Reward: Approximately 50 Karma per 1500 words (at 500 words/hr, roughly equivalent to GMing a game)

Caveat: If the content is not immediately useful beyond just your character, then this will not be rewarded.

Power and Mana Limits

GMs can choose to limit the amount of mana spent, power tiers, or any combination thereof when running a session.

TRANSFER TAX

To prevent floods of Karma and hoarding, there will be a 1% transfer tax when Karma is traded between individuals.

LIVING CURRENCY

Karma is a living currency. As the server grows, Karma rewards, Conversion Ratios, Karmic Investiture Taxes and Transfer Taxes will be adjusted so gameplay does not become too trivial.

ACCOUNTING

Players are expected to keep track of their own karma and how much they've earned, by tallying up their own hours and contributions.

In the event of a Karma discrepancy or dispute, Discord and Kanka logs will be audited to provide an accurate counting.

Those caught deliberately cheating will naturally have their Karma set to 0 and it will be determined by the server owner whether they are banned from the server.

Genesys Game Resouces

GENESYS:BUYING GAME RESOURCES

Members may ‘invest’ Karma by using it to purchase in-game resources such as

  • NPCs
  • Settlements
  • Gold
  • XP

That way, these in-game resources can develop and grow in game. NPCs gain XP, Hoard wealth can be spent, Settlements grow.

EXPERIENCE POINTS

Players who want to purchase XP must pay

XP Amt * XP Conversion Rate + Sales Tax

Example

Skye wants to buy 10 xp using Karma.

10 XP * 1 XP Conversion Rate = 10 + 10% Sales Tax = 11

Skye must spend 11 Karma to buy 10xp.

GOLD

Players who want to buy gold must pay

Gold Amt / Gold Conversion Rate + Sales Tax

Example

Kristina wants to buy 10 million old using Karma.

1 million Gold Conversion Rate * 10 Karma = 1 million Gold
10% Sales Tax on 10 Karma = 11 Karma

Kristina must spend 11 Karma to buy 10 million Gold.

SETTLEMENTS

Players who want to purchase a settlement must Pay

Resource Mana * Settlement Conversation Ratio + Sales Tax

Example
Vandria wants to buy a Town.

10 Mana * 50 Conversion Rate  = 500 + 10% Sales Tax = 550 Karma

D&D 5th Edition Resources

D&D 5th ED:BUYING GAME RESOURCES

Members may ‘invest’ Karma by using it to purchase in-game resources such as

  • Gold
  • Magical Items
  • Levels

LEVELS

Nominally, all players have characters at the same level. Those who wish to play more powerful characters can pay Karma to play at a higher level. It's up to individual GMs to allow this benefit to happen in their games.

Players who want to purchase additional levels must pay

LEVEL AMT * LEVEL Conversion Rate + Sales Tax

Example

Skye wants to buy 1 Level using Karma.

1 Level * 100 Karma Conversion Rate = 100 + 10% Sales Tax = 110

Skye must spend 110 Karma to buy an extra level.

GOLD and ITEMS

Players can buy gold or magical items at cost with Karma. Magical items must be approved by a GM. All GMs have a right to refuse any magical item in a game.

They must pay

Gold Amt / Gold Conversion Rate + Sales Tax

Example

Kristina wants to buy 1,000 gold using Karma.

100 Gold Conversion Rate * 10 Karma = 1,000 Gold
10% Sales Tax on 10 Karma = 11 Karma

Kristina must spend 11 Karma to buy 1,000 Gold.

OUT OF GAME REWARDS

OUT OF GAME REWARDS

Karma can be used to purchase out of game rewards as well as in-game resources.

GAME SESSION PRIORITY

If a GM is running a game with limited seats, GMs can prioritize players that offer Karma for a seat. The suggested cost for a priority seat is 50 Karma, the GMing a game session.

The Karma is transferred to the GM and has a transfer tax applied. This means for a 50 Karma seat the GM gets 45 Karma, and the player must spend 50 Karma and 5 Karma is lost in the process.

The rule of sportsmanship still applies. Using Karma to deliberately lock out or otherwise harass other players will not be tolerated. Players with low session counts should still be prioritized over those with high ones.
