Two large squares in the south of Neverwinter, bordered by
large crumbling walls is Neverdeath, the graveyard for the
city. Given the focus on rebuilding the city for the living,
cracked gravestones and collapsed mausoleums are the rule
rather than the exception. During the years of the
Spellplague, graves had been disturbed, the tumultuous earth
exposing coffins and the bodies of paupers.
During the last hundred years, the visitors were frequently
attacked by the risen dead, and it became common to burn
the dead outside of the walls, a practice that is still common
today.
With the return of order to the city however brought Sabys,
a gnome priestess of Kelemvor who seeks to build a temple in
Neverdeath. Sabys and a few attendant clerics worked their
way through Neverdeath and into Neverneath, the crypts the
wind underneath the graves above. Putting the under to rest
and hunting the necromancers who sought power,
Neverdeath has been largely pacified, at least on the surface.
The followers of Kelemvor have currently been working on
burying the dead that came to the surface, but it is a large
task, and the god of death attracts few adherents.
Neverneath was the original resting place when the city
was first founded. A twisting network of catacombs and
tombs, parts stretch out far outside the boundaries of
Neverdeath and are said to hold the Tomb of the Nine
