The Perfume District is named more of a joke than anything
else. Formally a battleground that was forced to be walled off,
the cataclysm either destroyed most of the forces in the
chasm, or weakened them enough that they were forced to
flee. Scraping together the mages that they could the city
managed to seal the portals at the bottom of the chasm, and
the area returned to a semblance of peace. Unable to fill the
Chasm, Nevermember ordered a canal built, flooding in,
created an enormous lake, officially named Lake Hope but
commonly known as Lake Hole by the more cynical of the
residents.
The area has been taken over by various industries, fueling
by loans handed out to increase the economic prosperity of
the city. Once founded only on trade, a wide variety of goods
are starting to be produced. Forges, Tanneries, and shipyards
are growing with temporary facilities already cranking out
supplies.
Already, these industries have led to outrage from some
groups, the Emerald Enclave is not happy about what is being
dumped in new lake, to nobles unhappy about the smells
coming from the ironically name Perfume District.
