Altian Kaltagar... oh the legend of such a hero. Of a wanderer fair and noble and fierce.
Many in the west (particularly from coral, wavecrest and even to wu jian) know the tale of the dragonslayer, he who wields the "Farblade" and who loved the goddess Lapis dream who now waits for him beyond the veil.
Many tales, many inconsistent between telling's, exist of Altian. His origin is unknown beyond myth as a hero born of the union of star and earth, blessed with might and saving many and becoming a living legend.
He is a folkhero in the west, one who an outsider might believe is fiction but will be rebuffed quick by firsthand accounts of his existence from sailors, shopkeeps and more.
Some saw him themselves, others swear their grandparents had a dalliance with the hero, others that the man slew their greatest foe.
It all seems very much fiction doesn't it? A hero who slew a dragon who tried to swallow the oceans, born of a union of the stars and earth and who romanced a goddess.
But he is real, but the story is far more strange.

Altian Kaltagar (if that's even his real name) is seen very differently by the fair folk of the west. One of their greatest heroes who whimsically cloaks himself in heroic tales like an indecisive prince his multitude of outfits for a ball.
Born amidst the starting days of the contagion and forged in the balorian crusade itself, he became a great legend as he was seen as slaying the elemental dragon Khaganoscra who tried to swallow the seas (consequences be damned to creation) to stop the sailing fleets of the raksha.
They whisper he loved the Raksha noble Lazuli-Dreams of Better Days, only to eat her graces and take her eyes as his own.
It was said when he was born Seven Sidereals fell alongside seven score dragonblooded on the same holy ground far to the west, only for their fallen essence to bring forth the Prince of the Fae himself.
it all seems very logical for a fae doesn't it? Its not the whole truth.

Altian Kaltagar is afraid... he is traumatised and afraid.
Exalting as one of the chosen of sol invictus during perhaps the worst point in history, he lost everyone to the twofold apocalypse.
Surviving only thanks to his great skill as a warrior and trickster, he wove a new identity as a fae-prince, hiding amongst the invading crusade and adopting their alien customs to ensure his surviving.
Many years would pass and he would get so deep into character it would border upon obsession. However centuries after the fae were pushed back he snuck his way back into creation, echoes of his true deeds under his fae guise still remaining as myth in the survivors.
Lacking a purpose and fearful of letting the mask fall, he remained the "Altian Kaltagar" and did as he always did, played the part of the wandering hero of myth.
He has since spread his legend even further by pure accident despite his preference for subtlety ensuring its spread was limited.
He has saved countless others but elements within both heaven, the fae courts and other forces have begun to turn their eyes towards him, as his legend spreads too far for his liking.
Yet his trauma and fear of letting the mask down for even a moment ensures alone... he won't slow.
He cannot slow.
("Altian Kaltagar" is an Eclipse caste solar, his mind is maddened and broken but despite his centuries of acting as his fae guise, he knows who he is. He is stubborn and fearful in truth despite his nature as such an elder solar that is a massive rarity in the age of sorrows, but one may just be able to get through to him with the right means... whether magic, kindess or a reminder of who he used to be)
