The only upscale district in Smokeside, Ustradi Heights boasts scores of fine manors and estates befitting the nobility of any nation in the Inner Sea. In fact, many displaced nobles do indeed call the district home, having fled their homelands under false names fo r the security and anonymity that comes from living in a magic-dead region such as the western half of Alkenstar. Often using their wealth and political influence to compensate fo r the inconveniences ofliving without the benefit of magic, these nobles are known to pay fo r sizable security contingents, as being immune to magical divination doesn ' t save them from assassins ' blades should they ever be discovered.
