The Gnomish peoples insist that when there is a double consonant at the beginning of a word that you must subtly pronounce the first letter. Most non-gnomes give up rather quickily after being corrected multiple times, and just put emphasis on the first syllable in Gnomish names, at which point the gnome they are talking to just shrugs and says close enough.
