The Low Bar is a pub and brewery, in one of the few stone buildings in Hilltop. It is also definitively the oldest building in Hilltop, having been built before the Shield Wall. Since it is built to Halflings and Gnomes standards, taller peoples like Humans and Orcs feel cramped inside, so the portion of the year that they can dine outside is very popular.
The Low Bar gets its name not from the lower ceilings, but from the quality of ale that it serves. It just clears the low bar of being palatable. Kegs and Kegs of lager from Steel Resolve Hold are purchased once a year at Festival Landing and make up the majority of sales at Low Bar. Many Hillfolk tend to swap with each other for their own homemade brewed beer, distilled spirits, and fermented wine. The bar owners do not particularly like this, but have continuously failed to put a stop to it.
The food and company generally make up the difference.
