The House gets its name from the idea it is the place at which the snows of the north begins to melt and the forests of the kingdom begin lush and full of life. Despite this the lands the House rules are still generally cold and the northern tip of them covered in ice and snow. The waters are warmer than that off the cliffs of the north but not much warmer and survival in it would still be hit and miss. There are persistent rumours that a race of tiny people live in the forest but whether this is just local folklore or whether it is real no one is really sure.
The House makes its money from mining Apoplex. This has made them an essential part of the growing economy championed by Prince Forrand Carnhold to whom the House owes its allegiance. Most of the House work as miners or are in other ways associated with the Apoplex trade.
The citadel of the House known as Harbourmore is also dedicated to the collection, export and refinement of Apoplex.
