The Principality of Kant

Major House

The banner of Kant Carnhold speaks volumes about his personality. For those who can interpret the symbols it is clearly a sick joke. The royal wreath, the symbol of Cranhold. That’s fine and understandable. The dark tree is the tree featured on the banners of many of the Houses that have their lands covered in forests both under his rule and in neighbouring baronies. Nothing wrong with that but what is in the tree? A big cat a suitable banner for a proud royal but what do they mostly ride in the forest kingdoms? Giant hounds or dogs – the mortal enemies of cats! He is acknowledging not just that he’s an outsider (before the king installed him in these lands) but that potentially he is an enemy. What is the cat doing? The charitable say that it is clawing the tree others have a more graphic interpretation. Kant has little interest in the day to day running of his principality and leaves that to his elderly advisors brought with him from his home in Crownhome. Kant will indulge himself with any technology or pleasure whilst his advisors forbid these things to the people he rules. He knows this and does not care. He acknowledges its hypocritical and does not care. What are you going to do? He is the (third eldest) son of the king.

Unlike the other woodland Houses and the rest of his own instead of a giant hound he insists on riding his long time steed a purple and horned giant cat from the savannahs of Crownhome.

His rule has caused a good deal of dissent. After all he was imposed on these people by his father the king. He has dealt swiftly with these uprising and imprisoned large numbers of rebellious farmers and rangers.
