Despite being a long standing member of the northern Houses most of the Philon's land is actually woodland. They navigate these snow covered woods using a huge ski lift type system that runs along the canopy of the gigantic trees. These run off oil which enrages the southern Houses who see that as an insult to The Society of the Bond.
Despite the fact that their knights ride the Giant Wooly Rhino like other northern and mainly northeastern Houses, the others have always been suspicious of their unique culture and do not regard their ways as rightly northern. They do things like crave living trees into beautiful shapes and patterns, something the misogynistic northern Houses see as weak and feminine. This interest in the decorative arts permeates their culture. Unlike in some other northern Houses women of the Philon can inherit and even lead a House.
They are probably the most welcoming of the House's that were formerly under the House of Sleth and are now ruled by the House of Karna, to their new Barons family.
