Built into the side of a cliff and encased in ice due to the frozen winds that whip in off the icy ocean, the citadel remains perilously difficult to invade and a safe place to hide out an epic war to the south. Today it belongs to the warlike House of Karna who only have it because its previous owners were foolish enough to leave their stronghold and meet the king's forces on the field of battle.

There is limited fishing off the side of the citadel as the northern waters are home to some of the fiercest and largest sea monsters.

There are piers off the edge of the building that are uncovered at low tide but still are often crashed over by giant waves in the tempestuous seas only the bravest or the most desperate would fish off those.

Occasionally in the winter at Stormbound it gets so cold and the tide so low that the edge of the sea begins to freeze. The foolhardy wade out onto the ice to make holes so those suspnded on the pier above can drop fishing lines through them into the water. On some occasions monsters have been know to break through the ice and swallow those walking on it whole.

As a long standing punishment criminals have been forced to walk the plank off the side of the citadel into the icy waters below. This is a quick death. If the crime is particularly heinous then they are made to walk the plank with a cold suit on, meaning they will be kept alive long enough to be viciously torn limb from limb by one of the sea monsters.

The lower floors contain a temple in which some old god of the north was once worshipped today the temple is used by The Society of the Bond and all trace of its former divine occuptant has been forcibly removed by the Karna.

Today the citadel is lightly manned as the Karna have moved most of their forces to their two more southerly citadels. The remaining troops are starved for entertainment but regularly view the Network on big communal screens, the Karna being the only northern house connected to the network and have a love of gambling games involving dice.

On the citadels western edge heated walkways lead out onto the endless tundra. From here weather balloons are launched daily in the hope that they will help warn off major storms and blizzards.
