The citadel of the House of Nome sits on a small green oasis in the middle of a vast desert. If is famous for one thing it's that prostitution is not only legal here, it is considered a religious duty to serve as a prostitute regardless of your social status. All citizens over 16 must serve one year in the official brothel.
You might think that this meant that the locals where licentious bunch but nothing could be further from the truth. They see sex as a religious experience and believe there is nothing sordid in it. The citadel itself is divided down the middle of the main tower and men live on one side of it and women the other. The sexes live in this segrigated way with the exceptions of various week long feasts dedicated to breeding. The half over the tower known as Brandruss is for the men and the half called Maroe is for the women, Named after two old gods of the region today the citadel officially follows the teaching's of The Society of the Bond but their culture and the functions of the tower remain. Inside clients can rent large luxurious temple rooms.
Each of the two haves contain a enormous sanctioned brothel that the locals are expected to serve in as a civic duty. The Brandruss brothel offers the services of men of all types and the Maroe is for the service of women. Members of the opposite sex are allowed to visit the brothels in the other half of the tower but are not allowed in the living floors and quarters of that tower.
As a result of the services it offers the citadel is popular with travellers and merchants and brings in significant sums to the House of Nome.
