The Patronay are one of the capitals old families they run transport in the city and are major food importers. They import a lot of their most premium food from the Barony of Twain.
They not only bring goods into the capital of Headcrown but also deliver them to citadel's across The Kingdom. The food is transported in giant refrigerated carts to keep it fresh. They also make some of the most highly prized ciders - using the fruit they buy in bulk. A Partronay perry made with fruits from Twain called 'Bliac Bejin' is perhaps the most prestigious drink in The Kingdom. The unique bottle has become a symbol of wealth and taste.
In order to protect their merchants the family employs its own security an order known as the 'trail runners'. Their job is to patrol the major merchant routes used by the family and deal with any bandits or fearsome creatures they encounter. It is said that they have also been known to get rid of any competition that the family might face from others attempting to sell food over long distances. The runners can be easily identified due to their spiked armour.
The trail runners ride giant cats brought for them by their wealthy masters. Unlike most aristocrats they prefer the slightly wilder more ferocious and aggressive steeds. While the risk lashing out at the innocent they still have their killer instinct when it comes to chasing and even eating the odd bandit.
