Unlike the other nations that once belonged to Galifar's kingdom, Thrane is ruled by a theocracy with Jaela Daran at its head, as opposed to a monarchy. It's the birthplace of the Silver Flame faith, and this religion permeates all aspects of Thranish life and culture, which tends to be fairly conservative. Despite common stereotypes, though, Thranes are surprisingly tolerant of other faiths, and most sane citizens look down on the Pure Flame sect for giving their religion a bad name.
