CyberPunk: Strays
It's been [REDACTED] years since the end of the Desert Wars. The fallout caused large swaths of the planet to be covered in deadly ZONE mist, a corrosive gas that slowly decays the world around it and mutates the genetic code of anything unlucky enough to breathe it in.
From the ashes of the previous world sprung megacities, bastions of humanity that gave the world hope that rebuilding was possible. Bending the raw power of ZONE energy to their will, Infinity City was born in the East; and after countless corporate wars Night City thrives in the West.
Infinity is your home, drowning in excess and filled with mystery and secrets.
As the city grew so did the disparity between the haves and have-nots. The Elites isolated themselves in Vision minor, an attempt to curry favor from the Elders who look down on us from an orbiting colony.
The rich pushed for robotic and organic modification to differentiate themselves and automation to drive the poor even further into poverty.
With the rise of Netrunners, corporations in Infinity took to transporting their information the old fashioned way - Racers: courier companies and independent drivers that transport whatever information you need, wherever you need it to go, no questions asked. They are the backbone of the city.
Today the city stands of the precipice of political explosion. Recently, the leader of the human rights organization the ReForm League (RFL) was found murdered in the streets and it reeks of a cover-up. In the wake of this tragic death riots are breaking out in the streets and rumors are spreading in the underground about the return of the Stray Dogs; if they show up, the city may really explode.
At the same time, the government has been quietly quarantining the slums, people have been talking about monsters in the shadows and the Irregulars have been reporting lots of street children going missing. The city is getting more dangerous by the minute.
This is where you come in.
Hunt down the truth. Tear through the streets. Ignite a revolution if you have to.
The city, and its future, are in your hands.
