This Paladin subclass is designed for Paladins who seek to redeem themselves, and those willing to sacrifice themselves for their allies and those that they have wronged.
Oath of Repentance
"Their eyes were full of remorse and regret, as they looked into their own reflections within the Pool of Redemption. Tears streamed down their cheeks, as they looked back on all of the pain they caused in their past. They felt as though they deserved the pain of regret, but Lars knew that for them to truly repent, they had to be redeemed; and the path to redemption is through humility and self-forgiveness. So they continued the painful path of remembering all of the pain they had caused, this was how Lars chose to repent for their sins."
– Xendarro, chronicler
Paladins who take the Oath of Repentance have realized the error of their ways, and seek to redeem themselves and find forgiveness for the actions they view as sins.
Tenets of Repentance
The tenets of the Oath of Repentance are a very personal process. This oath emphasizes the principles of redemption through forgiveness. Its four central principles are simple.
- Accept the Guilt. Only through accepting your role in the spreading of hate and negativity, can you find true repentance.
- Find True Humility. Acceptance and humility do not come from blaming others. No matter how someone has wronged you, it does not excuse you to contradict your morals. Accept your blame, and pass it onto none.
- Forgive Your Actions. Repentance cannot be achieved if you cannot learn to forgive yourself. You cannot change the past, but you can forgive yourself and allow yourself to become a better example.
- Repentance Through Redemption. Be ever vigilant of your actions, and reflective of your past. Acceptance of guilt is necessary, but repentance will never be achieved if you do not redeem yourself.

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
- Personal Sacrifice. As a reaction, when an attack hits an ally within 30 feet of you, you may magically switch places with them, taking whatever damage they would’ve taken.
- Second Chance. As an action, when an ally within 30 feet of you fails a saving throw, you can allow them to reroll the saving throw.
Aura of Forgiveness
Beginning at 7th level, your humility and honesty have made you easier to trust. You and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have advantage on Persuasion checks.
At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.
Selfless Retribution
At 15th level, you can spend a bonus action to deal additional damage on melee attacks equal to your Paladin level, though doing so makes you vulnerable to all damage. You can end this effect as a bonus action on your turn.
Divine Redemption
At 20th level, you can, as an action, surround yourself with an aura of hope that lasts for 1 minute. The aura reduces any bright light in a 30-foot radius around you to dim light. Whenever an enemy hostile to you or your allies enters the aura, they take 4d10 radiant damage. Additionally, any ally within the aura that has an AC lower than yours, their AC instead becomes equal to yours until the aura ends.
