Ability scores measure a creature's fundamental ability in various mental, physical, and metaphysical attributes. The seven ability scores are:
- Finesse. Measures a creature's dexterity and accuracy. This ability score affects actions requiring agility, precision, and coordination, such as ranged attacks, sleight of hand, and acrobatics.
- Fortitude. Measures a creature's constitution and resistance. This score reflects a character's durability, stamina, and ability to withstand physical and magical challenges. It impacts hit points, endurance, and saving throws against various forms of damage or debilitating effects.
- Power. Measures a creature's strength and might. This ability score influences melee combat, carrying capacity, and physical feats of strength, such as grappling or breaking objects.
- Smarts. Measures a creature's intelligence and wisdom. This score encompasses mental acuity, problem-solving, knowledge, and intuition. It affects skills related to logic, strategy, spellcasting, and information gathering.
- Social. Measures a creature's charisma and glamour. This ability score reflects a character's personal magnetism, persuasiveness, and social interactions. It influences skills like persuasion, deception, leadership, and the ability to command attention.
- Spirit. This ability score measures a creature's connection to the metaphysical or spiritual aspects of the world. It impacts magical abilities, resistance to supernatural effects, and the ability to tap into otherworldly powers.
- Luck. This ability score grants creatures more chances at success. It suggests a random factor that influences the outcomes of actions. Luck could potentially affect critical hit chances, saving throws, or provide rerolls or bonuses to specific situations.
