Dwothor Blueshield was a shield dwarf who was born high up in the Earthspur Mountains (Toril-2) at the Monastery of the Yellow Rose (Toril-2). His mother was Tace Blueshield (Toril-2), a paladin in command of the military forces of the monastery. Not enjoying the martial training of the monks, Dwothor spent much of his time in the library, where he would eventually teach himself spellcraft and learning the ways of the wizard. Feeling constrained by his mother and the religious zeal of the monks, he wanted to leave the monastery to travel across Faerûn (Toril-2), though he did not do so until his monastery was under attack. Fearing that a sacred text would fall into the wrong hands, he took the text and fled. He traveled West and eventually found himself in the city of Waterdeep (Toril-2).
