Deadlocked was one of the many groups of adventurers 'hired' by Death Lock, inc. (DLI) and sent on a mission to Lucerria's Crypt which was really an attempt to kill them, as was the agreement between DLI and the people seeking to have the members of Deadlocked killed. DLI continued to send the members of Deadlocked on missions designed to kill them, until Deadlocked learned of the deceit and brought an end to their employer's company.

Luke: a local sheriff after Luke started a gang of children and incited a rebellion
Sandra: fiancé who's reputation was being tarnished by Sandra, who ends up marrying Sandra's sister
Sparky: a member of a rival noble house who convinced Sparky's parents to let him take Sparky to what he said was a military education center
Xorron: Xorron's father who was dishonored when Xorron chose to flee his tribe
