Introduction to the PCs

The court mage of Neverwinter, Chester Addicott, is waiting for the adventurers in their tavern.

He looks unkempt and tired and brings a message from lord Neverember.

"Something strange has happened at The House of Knowledge: 5 people have gone missing though they never left their laboratory."

"We would like to make use of your skills again. Please, meet me at Castle Never"

Chester casts a Teleportation circle spell and leads the adventurers to the circle below the Hall of Justice.

Prelude: Neverwinter Castle

The adventurers are invited by Lord Neverember at Castle Never to learn more about the trouble at the University.

They join him during dinner where they receive information on the university and a description of the problems.

Act 1A: The House of Knowledge

At the House of Knowledge they're welcomed by the staff.

The adventurers learn more about the missing people.

The lab has been sealed by the other staff, both magically and by nailing the door shut.

There's plenty of clues and some resources to be found in the laboratory.

The adventurers activate an ancient artifact, the Dream Builder, and travel to the Demi-Plane of Nightmares.

Act 1B: The Demi-Plane of Nightmares

The adventurers enter the Demi-Plane of Nightmares, and follow a series of "rooms" that bring them closer to the Far Realms.

They find signs of previous passage.

They meet one of the missing researchers, lying unconscious on the floor.

The adventurers find the researchers, transformed into Kaorti and a big battle ensues.

They find out someone was guiding the researchers: a visiting professor specialized in arcane archeology, Professor H. Morovar.

Interlude: The House of Professor H. Morovar

They're welcomed at the door by a housekeeper who tells the andventurers professor Morovar is not home.

A grandfather clock on the first floor leads a private pocket plane.

Act2: The Realm of the Star Spawn

A broken labyrinth with high walls and with a 90ft tall Neh-Thalggu walking around carefully stepping over the walls.

The adventurers must be stealthy to survive.

The whole upper half is a variation on the prismatic own puzzle.  A large stone statue of Amaunator, the eyes missing stands in the central room.

After clearing the 5 partitions a spiral staircase is revealed.

Each single tread gets larger and larger while the party descends.

Around the staircase dark red liquid cascades from gaint orbs, like tiny planets, filled with dark holes.

On the other side of the Labyrinth the adventurers encounter professor Morovar in her true Star Spawn form and find out if they were able to stop her plans:

  • start the creation of an army of Kaorti.
  • swarm the city with Star Spawn
  • keep the two portals between Faerun and the Far Realm open.

Final fight

Conclusion

Dinner with Lord Neverember attended by the faculty members.
