Legend has it Vanoldas was an Eladrin of the Feywild who became enamored of his own reflection to the point of ignoring all others. While gazing upon the magical waters of a moonlit pool and admiring himself, Vanoldas spurned the nymph who lived there, and she placed a terrible curse upon him. Vanoldas would never see his reflection again, and no one else would ever gaze upon his beauty either; Vanoldas would henceforth take the appearance of whomever gazed on him.
Aeons later, no one remembers what Vanoldas looked like in their youth. Old and mad with grief, he reflects the worst versions of those who meet him. Twisted and warped, these visions are always preceded by a flash of dark flame. Vanoldas' demands upon his Warlocks are unpredictable, but always cruel. Sometimes he seeks to enact revenge against the world's cruelty, at other times he simply attempts to bring out the worst in his warlocks.
